Dear employees of Akamori Enterprise,
November is almost over and I'd like to take this opportunity to inform you about the most recent developments around echo//shredd. There is some exciting stuff going on, so fasten your Akamori Enterprise-provided seatbelts!
A First Glimpse at the Iron Church
A new destination is rising: the Iron Church. This is where the Iron Coffins will ultimately be delivered, and although the structure is still very much a work in progress, the first visuals already set a chilling tone. The atmosphere around the site carries a quiet sense of ceremony - one that hints at something older, stranger, and far more deliberate than it initially appears. Whatever happens behind those towering steel arches feels less like processing and more like… something being accepted.

Revamped Train Terminal Interface
The Train Terminal has undergone a complete visual and functional overhaul. The interface now reads cleaner, looks sharper, and feels far more satisfying to operate. Every interaction has a clearer identity, making navigation and decision-making faster and more intuitive.

Huge Performance Gains Across the Board
Recent internal testing has shown dramatic improvements to performance. Scenes previously locked around 40–50 FPS (on actually pretty beefy development machines) now run at over 150 FPS on 4K/Ultra settings.
The experience is now noticeably smoother, especially in larger, more complex areas. Also the feedback from the community was soothing on that performance boost, so there's almost no doubt echo//shredd will run good on toaster PC's.
Enemies With Teeth
Hostiles have been reworked into something far more dangerous. Instead of drifting aimlessly, they now react, pursue, and pressure players with much greater aggression. They also learned the ability to react to audio cues in their environment. Loud noises, talking players, or even the tiniest footstep might turn nearby hostiles curious about whats around the corner.
Their behavior is still evolving, but the direction is clear: They no longer act like passive obstacles. They want to find you. And sometimes, they do.

Multiplayer Development Begins in December
Next month marks the start of major work on multiplayer systems. This is a crucial step toward testing the core identity of echo//shredd - the cooperative tension, the shared panic, and the split-second decisions that define the experience. And most importantly: PROXIMITY VOICE CHAT!
It will also allow the creation of early multiplayer gameplay footage, which is essential for marketing and community expansion. More details will follow as the systems take shape.
And thats it for November! More updates coming soon. Thank you so much for reading and for following the journey. Please take care of you and see you next time. Cheers!
