🚀 FluidFrames 2026.3 is here! Bigger, Faster, Smarter.

Hi everyone! A brand new update for FluidFrames is now live on Steam. This release brings massive performance boosts, updated AI models for stunning video quality, and a more robust interface.

Here is everything new in version 2026.3:

🛠️ Performance & AI Engine Updates

  • Upgraded RIFE AI Models (v4.27): Updated the RIFE and RIFE_s models from version 4.16 to 4.27. This brings significant improvements in frame interpolation, delivering crisper details, fewer visual artifacts, and a much higher overall video fidelity

  • Python 3.14 Upgrade: Under-the-hood core updates deliver a +5% overall performance boost

  • AI Engine v1.24.4: General bugfixes and better overall AI stability

🎨 UI & Quality of Life Changes

  • New Balloon Notifications: Replaced the old app messagebox interface with a sleek, custom-styled balloon notification system

  • Smart Backend Detection: The app title now dynamically displays your current AI engine and backend so you always know what's running:

    • + DirectML 🟢 GPU acceleration is active for maximum performance

    • + CPU ⚠️ GPU acceleration is disabled (generation will be significantly slower due to missing libraries or outdated GPU drivers)

🎬 Faster Video Encoding & Fixes

  • 10% Faster Encoding: Video rendering is now faster and more efficient

  • Smart Codec Fallback: The app now automatically switches to H.264 if your GPU does not support the chosen codec, preventing failed renders

  • Higher Default Quality: Increased the default video bitrate to 50 Mbps for maximum visual fidelity

  • Improved Stability: Redesigned frame management for better memory handling and speed

🌍 Global Compatibility (Bugfixes)

  • Universal Language Support: Fixed potential crashes on systems with non-English regional settings (such as Asian or Cyrillic locales)

  • Enhanced Character Handling: Full native support for special characters, symbols, and emojis across the entire interface and background processes

  • General Cleanup: Under-the-hood bug fixes and updated dependencies for rock-solid stability
