Well, we're three weeks away from launch and The Funnel is now finished bug testing and has been sent out to content creators! As I mentioned in the last post, the demo has also been taken down due to it being out of date with the full game.
Aside from that, I've also started development on our studio's next game, but I'll be going back and forth to support The Funnel with patches after launch.
This week I wanted to write a bit more about the areas of the game that you might encounter outside your factory.
THE TUNNELS
Under your factory lies a network of old buildings and tunnels that seem abandoned. If you can reach them, you'll have to break open doors and maybe even ride a railcar. But why was this part of the factory abandoned and where do the tunnels lead?
A NEW OFFICE
Impressing your factory manager has its benefits and might even lead you to getting promoted. Try and establish contact with the Funnel and even manage your own factory from a new office. But the managers seem to be on edge. What's gone wrong to worry them about the future of the factories?
THE SMOKE STACKS
There's one sure way to reach the surface, and that's your factory's smoke stack. Build a bomb, blast it open, and you'll certainly encounter other factories as you make the long climb upwards. But, what or who else lies along the way? Can escape be as simple as climbing this ladder to the top?
I hope you've enjoyed this little teaser of the areas outside your factory in The Funnel. Of course, you can always ignore all of this and just stay in your factory completing assemblies. The choice is yours.
Next week I'll have one final post from our composer about the music of The Funnel.
May the gears keep turning,
-Gabe
