If you've been waiting for the moment to start bashing up Combots, now’s your chance! We’re thrilled to announce that Lynked: Banner of the Spark will be part of Steam Next Fest! You can even play the demo early, starting TODAY! It will be available until the event ends on October 21. We've put together a rundown of everything you can experience in the demo so you're prepared when you fire it up for the first time.
What to Expect During Steam Next Fest
While Steam Next Fest technically begins next week, we wanted to release our demo a little early. This way, you will have some extra hands-on time with the game to complete the first chapter of the story, try different weapon classes, start building out your town, and much more. Here’s what’s included in the demo version of Lynked:
- TUTORIAL: Your adventure begins as you attempt to break out of captivity in a Combot facility. Meet and team up with a friendly bot named Buddy along the way to master the basics of movement and combat, then travel to your town.
- STORY CHAPTER 1: Once you’ve completed the tutorial, your town will serve as the staging ground for you to take on all six story missions that make up Chapter 1, as well as several side quests. THE WYRE AND WEAPON CLASSES: In addition to wielding the Wyre, which is your versatile grappling hook, you will discover and learn to craft 4 of 10 powerful Weapon Classes: Swords, Bashers, Claws, and Spears.
- TONS OF UPGRADES: As you progress through Missions, you will learn to harness new Spark Powers, apply active and passive upgrades for the Wyre, and unlock mid-run mods for different Weapon Classes.
- TOWN-BUILDING & ALLIES: Rescue Unibots from the clutches of the Combot army, and then begin forging friendships with them in town. In turn, your new friends will use their unique expertise to teach you how to construct new buildings, upgrade your gear, and more!
- BOSS FIGHT REWIND: Once you’ve completed Chapter 1, and shown the Combots that the last of humanity isn’t going down without a fight, you can replay the Cyberus Pack boss fight for additional rewards. Don’t forget to try out different weapons and Spark Powers!
Of course, you can dive into the demo solo, but Lynked is even better with friends. Join forces with up to two of your pals to take on missions together in action-packed three-player co-op. Between Missions, join up to five other players in town to build, craft, customize, and fish, among many other activities. If you ever need a hand with a challenging mission, or you’re looking for more teammates, be sure to check out our Discord server to lynk up with others in the community.
Early Access Coming Soon!
Once Steam Next Fest comes to an end, we’re planning to launch into Early Access on October 22. This version of the game will offer much more story content to explore, additional weapon classes and upgrades to discover, a myriad of town-building options, and much, much more. We will share more details about Early Access in the weeks to come, so check back here for additional information later this month.
Make sure to add Lynked: Banner of the Spark to your Steam wishlist to get notified when Early Access begins. We hope you enjoy the demo!
