Heyy space scouts 🪐👾
The heat has been brutal and it's even managed to destroy my graphics card so RIP my wallet 😭💸
But the show must go on, so here's what the team and I did in june:
We refined some more of our menu's like our level select and win screen so they not only look nicer but also feel better to navigate with lots more animations and visual feedback!
The levels of our second planet are coming along nicely and it's so nice to play in a new environment ✨
We added a few new cutscenes for some levels and the new boss
Our first boss is finally taking shape so stay tuned for a post revealing the finished design! Here's a rough sketch:
A proper save-slot system was implemented for both off- and online play
We looked at our endless-mode again and fixed a bunch of stuff, like enemy spawning and shop balancing, so hopefully we'll be able to test it with friends soon!
We added some new cool upgrades for the player like health regeneration and life steal
As unfortunate as it is that my graphics card broke, it forced us to look at performance again, because I temporarily used an old card I had laying around and lets just say, I never want to play a game with 10fps ever again 🫠 Performance optimization will take a long time but it'll be worth it 💪
Stay hydrated and see you in a month 🌻
