- The 2 UEFA + 1 CAF co-hosting will be restricted to the Mediterranean region. You won't see illogical co-hosting like Gabon + England + France anymore.

Eligible nations include: Morocco, Algeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Turkey.

- All CONCACAF associated members, including Guadeloupe and Bonaire, are no longer eligible for the World Cup qualifiers.

32-team World Cup

The qualifiers has been adjusted to closely align with the 2022 World Cup qualifiers. The main adjustments include:

AFC: It consists of four rounds. The best loser(s) in the first round can still qualify for the second round.

OFC: The first round has become a knockout stage with four teams.

CONCACAF: It has three rounds. The top five teams automatically advance to Round 3. All associated members are no longer eligible for the qualifiers.

A pre-World Cup friendly stage has been introduced.

These updated World Cup formats will be available in a new save.
