Updated world Cup draw rules
Based on a new announcement by FIFA, two more rules have been added to the "World Cup Finals" tournament draw:
1. Opposite paths for top teams
The top four teams will be placed in opposite halves of the draw. Spain (1st) and Argentina (2nd) will be drawn into opposing paths, as will France (3rd) and England (4th). This ensures they cannot meet before the final, assuming both win their respective groups.
2. Inter-continental playoff
Teams qualifying through inter-continental playoffs cannot be drawn into a group with a team from a confederation they defeated. For example, if Bolivia qualifies by beating teams from the AFC and CONCACAF, it will not be grouped with any teams from those confederations.
The previously draw rule to benefit Scotland and Norway was fake news and has been removed.
These changes are available in a new save.
