Content Update v0.6.5
Features
A new custom game mode option that removes the rewards from combat with standard enemies and places new encounters on the map instead. When combined with the Big sectors custom game mode, this reduces overall rewards making the big sectors mode a bit more difficult and (we think) more balanced.
New work-in-progress XO concepts are available in a custom game mode. We're working on overhauling the executive officers with a focus on adding depth and more interactivity. The new designs are playable but unpolished, and we'd love to hear your feedback on them.
3 new augments; 1 faulty and 2 major
New atmosphere breach VFX added to the damage effects
Polish and updates the the explosion particle effects
Improvements to the physics of ship debris
Windows on enemy ships now respond to damage
Beam visuals and beam duration now scale up with beam strength
Goblin Drones have a deploy animation
The Riposte card now shows its shot count in a counter fire status
Phased Defense+ card now gives 2 shields this turn, 4 shields next turn. It can now be upgraded to Phased Defense++.
Bug fixes
The Reactive Coprocessing augment now gives you +1 action next turn if the first time you take damage in a turn is from fire
Stabilization Topologizer now stabilizes reflector shields
One Year of Early Access
It's hard to believe it’s already been a year since Command Deck launched into Early Access! We wanted to give an update on where we’re at and where we’re going.
Over the last year we've seen 7 content updates, 11 point releases, and 4 hotfixes. Our original plan was to reach 1.0 around this time, but getting things right has taken longer than expected. We plan to continue releasing a steady stream of content updates as we work towards our 1.0 launch in 2027. Major features planned include finishing the executive officer overhaul, adding another class of player ships, and polishing the user experience. Of course, we will also continue to add cards, enemies, augments, and encounters as we go.
If you're reading this, then you’re probably someone who cares about Command Deck. Thank you so much for being part of our community. Everyone who has given us feedback, provided bug reports, left a review, or even just played the game has helped keep us going, and we really appreciate your support. We've made it one year into Early Access, and we're excited for the updates to come on the road to 1.0.
If you have any feedback, suggestions, or questions, we'd love to hear from you on Discord or the Steam forums. See you in the Outer Reaches! 🚀
