Hello, Solo-raiders! 👋

Long time no see! We’ve been busy working on a bunch of cool new things 👀 And one of those things is…

Welcome to the very first Tavern Talk!

This will be a new series where we can gather updates, share teasers, talk about what we’ve been working on, discuss community feedback, and generally give you a peek into our thoughts and the development process.

Basically:

All the little tidbits in one place, so we don’t have to make a bazillion separate posts.
Community-focused conversations and events, where we can hang out and talk about the game together.
Cool stuff that might only matter to some of you, but that we still think is worth sharing.

Now, there’s something VERY important we want to make clear:

Nothing that we present on Tavern Talk, this or future ones, is carved on stone.

We’re an indie dev team, which means some weeks are full of carefully thought-out plans, while others are completely fueled by “That would be cool” testing and exploring and changing. That also means that some of the things we mention here might eventually be replaced by something we think works even better for the project and that’s just how development goes, also things that we’re working on that we mention here won't have any timelines shared in these Tavern Talks. But don’t worry, destiny is uncontrollable yet we’ll arrive at it all the same.

Now, onto the juicy stuff:

WE LOVED SEEING YOU PLAY THE NEW DEMO!

We are SOOOO happy that you guys enjoyed the new demo! Seeing all the discussions in our Discord, the videos, screenshots, streams and everything else you’ve been sharing has honestly made us incredibly happy. The feedback we’ve received from you has also been incredibly valuable. We’re so lucky to have a community that puts so much thought into their criticism, suggestions, and ideas. It genuinely helps us a lot and gives us plenty to think about as we keep developing the game.

So, thank you for playing, sharing, discussing, criticizing, theorizing, and generally being here with us!

Now, addressing…

WHERE IS MY ROGUE???

We totally understand the excitement (and anxiety) around getting to play Rogue, and we ARE working on it for all you shadow lovers out there. It’ll be coming soon and as a little treat, what do you guys think of our skill icons?

Factions & Reputation Expansion

You seemed to really enjoy the Reputation System!

With all the appreciation and enthusiasm you’ve shown for the system, it became pretty clear that you wanted this mechanic to be more present, bigger, better, STRONGER.

So, we’ve added it to our to-do list! More content related to factions and the Reputation System is now being worked on and we’ll be showing it to you guys as things take shape!

Healing and Utility

We’ve also seen your feedback about healing and utility and we understand that these systems currently feel too linear and limited. We’re working on it! Our goal is to make healing and utility feel more consistent, stable, and expressive. We will also be adding many more healing and utility skills to the game which we will reveal in future updates.

There’s still some work to be done, but it’s something we’re actively looking into and improving!

For the lore enjoyers!

We also noticed a lot of interest in the story, and honestly? We’re so excited about it! The demo as of now is quite light on story content and that’s done intentionally. We wanted it to focus more on giving you a taste of the gameplay, systems, and overall experience without throwing the entire world at you right away.

But don’t worry, there’s a lot more story to come. As we add more content to the game, we’ll also be expanding the world, its characters, its factions, and all the questionable decisions that got the world in this state. So seeing you guys already theorizing and getting curious about the story from what little we’ve shown so far is honestly really exciting for us. We’re very happy you’re interested, and we can’t wait to show you more!

More News, More Tavern Talk!

Since the demo launched, we’ve received A LOT of questions, curiosity, and requests to know more about the game. So, going forward, we’ll be using our Steam channels more actively to share more announcements, updates, and behind-the-scenes looks at what we’re working on.

We’ll be talking more about classes, bosses, raids and raidbosses, full mechanics behind the game, uncut Behind the Scenes dev logs where you can see the actual development process including all the messy bits. We will be doing more regular progression updates and doing proper mechanic deep dives whenever something deserves a little more explanation than a simple twit or “I’m sure they’ll figure it out” can provide.

We want to give you a better look of what we are working on at the game as it grows, while also bringing you along for the ride as we build it so keep those questions coming.

We’re listening. 👀

On the topic of what we ARE doing

This can be familiar to those that keep an eye open on our Playtesting chat on our discord server but we are working on different raid biomes currently, and I, for one, think they look great:
