No, this isn't April Fools! There's actually a story behind it!
So we went to Steam and asked them:
"We'd like to run a free weekend for The Father's Story on resurrection weekend for the holiday."
Steam:
"Why? What's your goal?"
Us:
"Just for the holiday as a treat. Maybe generate some more buzz."
Steam:
*Days later, roughly phrased
"Your game isn't important enough to get a free weekend."
Us:
Okay then...*Thinks of plenty of other obscure titles that got them over the years
*Does it anyways on itch with a max discount on here
So that's the story! For this weekend the itch version (Lacks Achievements) is 100% off over there and the Steam version (With Achievements) is 77% off here! We really couldn't take it higher since our price is already low and Steam doesn't want to promote it.
We likely will run a similar deal again for Christmas so if you miss out now, you can take advantage of it then. Why're we telling you our plans so far in advance? Why not? It's a time of celebration isn't it?
