Playtest is dead, all hail Beta test
We're closing our separate playtest app. It served us well, but from now on we're putting all our effort into one final version of the game, tested here on the Beta branch, ahead of the eventual full release.
As we approach the end of Hungry Horrors' development, we need more feedback from all of you so we can finish the campaign and the whole storyline. We now have Part 1 of the endgame content ready for testing, with Part 2 coming soon.
It's not balanced yet, there are probably still bugs, and some elements are missing. We'll keep improving it until we're happy with the result, and your feedback along the way is a huge part of that.
Version 0.3.6 is live on the Beta branch ONLY. It's a big one: the Megaliths biome, our final biome, is ready for testing. This update also includes some, but not all, of the content that comes after it, including the rooftop encounter.
Note: the Beta branch is English only for now.
To opt in, right-click Hungry Horrors in your Steam Library → Properties → Game Versions & Betas → select the beta branch.
What's new in the Megaliths (Beta branch only)
A brand new biome to explore
4 new Horrors to feed
A new character with their own story
A new artefact to discover
A new ingredient, with new dishes built around it
A new familiar
Lots more waiting to be found
Visit the Megaliths and discover more British and Irish folklore for yourself.
Important: separate saves
The Beta branch uses its own save files, so your progress on the default branch is completely safe. If you want to bring an existing save across, copy your save file and add "beta_" to the name (for example, slot_1.save becomes beta_slot1.save). Keep the original file too.
Report bugs and share feedback
All Beta branch testing now happens on our Discord. Bug reports, suggestions, anything you notice, please drop it there so the rest of the server stays spoiler free.
