Art Shop Simulator is part of the Wholesome Underdogs event on Steam! 🎨
To celebrate, the game will be 35% off during the entire event.
First, I want to address something some of you have noticed: the updates have been quiet for the past few months.
The reason is pretty simple, I’ve been working on a major renovation of my house in real life. What I thought would be a manageable project turned into something much bigger than expected. Anyone who has ever renovated knows how it goes: one wall turns into five, one weekend turns into months.
It demanded more time and energy than I originally planned, and because I’m developing this game largely on my own, it meant development had to temporarily slow down.
But the important part is that my vision for Art Shop Simulator has never changed.
From the beginning, the goal has always been to create the best art shop simulator possible; a game where creativity, strategy, and the unpredictable world of art collide in interesting ways. A place where you’re not just placing paintings on walls, but building a real art business, discovering artists, competing with rivals, taking risks, and watching your gallery grow from a tiny shop into something legendary.
That vision is still very much alive.
The renovation finally wraps up next week, which means I can return to development with full focus and start preparing the big 1.0 update that the game has been building toward.
And I can already tease a few of the things coming:
🖌 Hire artists to paint for your shop
Instead of doing everything alone, you’ll be able to recruit artists and grow your gallery together.
🏆 A fully integrated award ceremony
Where the best paintings compete for recognition, prestige, and serious value.
🎭 Two rival competitors
Other galleries will actively try to outsell you with their own art. The competition is about to get real.
🗿 Sculptures!
Because art isn’t just flat anymore. Let’s see how creative your gallery can get.
📈 Financial graphs and analytics
Track your sales, study trends, and adapt your pricing strategy like a real gallery owner.
🏪 The final two shop upgrade slots
Expanding your gallery to its full potential.
🕵️ A counterfeit art system
Not every masterpiece is what it seems… will you spot the fakes, or accidentally sell one?
…and more features.
I’ll come back with an exact release date for the 1.0 update, but I can already promise one thing: It will arrive before summer!
Thank you to everyone who has supported the game, played the demo, given feedback, and stuck around while things slowed down for a bit. Your enthusiasm for the game is a huge part of what keeps this project moving forward.
Now that the real-life construction is ending, it’s time to get back to building the ultimate art shop simulator.
