Time to make some connections in the cosmos! This update introduces a new face, a new dialogue system, and some much-needed balance adjustments. Let’s dive in!
New Features
- Meet James P. Burnard – The Cosmic Wanderer: Your first contact with this mysterious traveler will set you on a path of intrigue.
- Embark on a Quest: Experience a new dialogue system that lays the groundwork for more interactive storytelling.
Changes
- Explorer Captains: Can now randomly reward you with a map to a new sector. The higher their tier, the better the odds.
- Bounty Captains: Now raise your reputation with the faction of the sector they were hired in.
- Payouts Adjusted Based on System Security: The riskier the sector, the higher the potential rewards—but also the greater the challenge.
- No More AI Art: Character portraits have been removed to make way for improved subtitles.
- Technical Change: All dialogue now runs through a new wordwrap system, making future translations much easier.
Fixes
- Job Rewards for NPC Captains: Adjusted values to allow for a better return on investment.
- Docking Issues: Fixed a bug when docking in sectors containing scrap fields. (No more unintended ship recycling.)
- Item Stockpile Failsafe: Built a failsafe to prevent item stock from exceeding 10,000 or dropping below 0. (Because negative items aren’t a feature, yet.)
Looking Ahead
We're currently working on overhauling the game's logo and updating some graphical elements to give the game a fresh new look. Additionally, the next week will be fully dedicated to expanding Wanderer's Veil—expect more depth, more story, and more adventures coming soon!
As always, thank you for being part of this journey! 🚀
