Version 0.5.0 – The Journey Begins
The wait is over! 0.5.0 marks the start of a new era, bringing with it powerful new features, a fresh combat-ready ship, and the foundation for even bigger things to come. Buckle up—there’s a lot to explore.
First, a quick apology: My PC suffered a catastrophic failure last week (CPU socket pins broke off, leading to file corruption and system instability). As a result, I couldn’t upload a patch, and rebuilding my toolchain while restoring backups took quite some time. Because of this, this patch isn't quite as big as I originally planned—but don't worry, things are back on track!
New Features
- Mission Script Engine Expansion: Added base functionality to extend mission scripting. More dynamic and engaging missions are on the horizon!
- New Ship – Spectre: A sleek, high-performance combat vessel rivaling the Starlite. While its advanced generators and weapons systems give it an edge, its defenses are… well, let’s just say "don’t get hit."
- Fleet Automation (Early Version): You can now hire captains for your extra ships and have them work for you in real time. Watch as your fleet generates income, but keep in mind—this feature is still in its early stages and will evolve in future updates.
Changes
- Item Consolidation: Items have been streamlined to fit the new production cycle and pave the way for consumables. Your inventory may have changed—don’t panic!
Fixes
- Turrets should no longer fire when docked. (Because friendly fire while parked was a little too exciting.)
The Road Ahead
With the mission scripting system expanding, new ships rolling in, and fleet automation kicking off, 0.5.x will be all about depth, strategy, and storylines. Keep an eye out for more updates, and as always—thank you for being part of this journey! 🚀
