Greetings Detectives,
In Private Eye: The Young Heir, every story hides another one beneath it—buried under silence, lies, and lost memories. As players step into the shoes of Hakeem, our determined investigator, they’ll need more than just sharp eyes and a notebook to uncover the truth. They’ll need to reconstruct the past itself.
That’s where our cornerstone mechanic comes in: Recall.
🧠 The Recall Mechanic: Memory as a Tool
At the heart of every quest in Private Eye: The Young Heir is the Recall system—our unique mechanic that allows players to rebuild key moments from the past inside the Mirza mansion. Using gathered information—statements from characters, examined items, and discovered clues—players can piece together how events unfolded in a given space.
Think of Recall as investigative time travel. You're not watching a cutscene; you're recreating the scene with the fragments you've found. Where did the suspect stand? What object was moved? What was said—or left unsaid? The more accurate your reconstruction, the closer you get to revealing the truth.
🔍 Puzzles Rooted in Reality
These reconstructed moments are more than just cinematic flourishes—they’re full-blown interactive puzzles. Each scene asks the player to think critically about the information they’ve gathered. Was that wine glass really broken during a struggle, or was it placed there afterward to throw someone off? Why are two witnesses describing the same event so differently?
Environmental awareness becomes a key skill. Players will need to scan every corner of a room, examine objects from multiple angles, and weigh testimonies against physical evidence. Every detail matters, and nothing is placed without purpose.
🗣️ Dialogue Drives Discovery
Outside of the Recall scenes, players will move through the mansion, engaging with its complex cast of characters. These aren’t just flavor conversations—they’re central to how the story unfolds. You’ll question motives, follow up on inconsistencies, and uncover buried tensions between the people who lived (and possibly killed) in this house.
Some characters lie. Some protect. Some twist the truth just enough to buy time. It’s your job to read between the lines, extract key details, and decide who to trust—if anyone.
🎭 Your Mind is the Greatest Weapon
What sets Private Eye: The Young Heir apart is that the story isn’t handed to you—it’s built by you. Every quest pushes the player to not just explore, but to interpret. The mansion becomes a living crime scene, and the Recall mechanic is the bridge between what was and what might have been.
By combining intricate puzzles with character-driven storytelling, we’re creating a detective experience that truly puts you in the role, not just as a question-asker, but as a scene-builder, a truth-seeker, and ultimately, the one who will decide what really happened.
Stay sharp, detective. The past is only as reliable as the mind that remembers it.
