I’ll cut straight to the point: We still have one more update in us for Nightmare House: The Original Mod.
Nightmare House goes a long way. Let’s see…
2007 Nightmare House HL2 map pack was released (just the house)
2010 Nightmare House 2 was released as a full mod (including the hospital)
Fun fact, NH is the third oldest video in Markiplier's channel
2015 Nightmare House 2 was re-released with tweaks and updates
2024 Nightmare House: The Original Mod was released, making the entire experience available on Steam for free
It’s now 2026 and we’re working on a brand new Nightmare House game.
(And in between we had released In Sound Mind 2021 and Days Without Incident 2025, among other adventures)
Upcoming Mod Update
There’s an upcoming update which will properly add controller support, as well as a few minor tweaks and more languages supported out of the box. I know we’ve been talking about it for a while, so I apologize it’s taking this long! We’re juggling a lot.
The update will also fix the missing Lost Files-files. They lived up to their name truly.
Classic Mod VS Reimagined
Since the Mod’s release on Steam, we’ve been busy working on the new Nightmare House game. We thought it was a fun experiment to look at the differences in different areas and compare them. Let’s take a look:

We’re taking time to tweak our aesthetics to keep the Source classic NH look, with modern twists in lighting and gameplay. We can show plenty more and explore our dev approach deeper, if it's something you guys find interesting. Stick around to hear more!
Thanks,
Ido
