Hello H-Hour community!
Our latest patch on Saturday primarily focused on maps. Temple had some major work on poly counts for trees and bushes to improve framerate in game and production quality lighting was added for the first time. This will allow the developers to see what further improvements might be needed to lighting. Russ got creative and also gave WolfRun a complete rework to add many elements suggested by the community to this map. Changes were made to landscaping elevations, new paths and tunnels were added for player movement, the Enemy spawn was moved closer to the bomb pickup zone, a basement was added to the middle building to further enhance movement and the terrain grass was replaced. For more details on everything that was included in our patch or to leave comments, join the discussion here.
Behind the scenes work also continued on the H-Hour Workshop framework, improving our anti-cheat application and a special build was done to add more logging to our dev server so we could gather detailed results on voice use in game for both the server and client.
This dev team’s main activities for the rest of the week will be:
- Tweaking and testing the latest anti-cheat files to ensure the disconnects players were experiencing have been fixed
- Cooking the lighting on WolfRun which should result in a performance boost
- Reviewing all community feedback related to Sismis and have a sit down with Russ to create a plan moving forward
- Begin laying out the frame work to refine and enhance the player experience to include UI, Armory and other aesthetics that will help round out H-Hour
- PMN mines will/should make an appearance this week. It will be first pass! Community feedback will be important so we can adjust and fix anything that is brought to our attention.
- Upping the inventory capacity to three equipment items. Rules will be incorporated with this change, for example, you won’t have three slots with PMN mines.
- The workshop is now almost ready to begin testing. Some of our testers will get notified next week to begin running it through its paces so we can see what might be needed before it can be released.
For those who have not seen WolfRun yet, here is a screenshot to give you a glimpse at some of the improvements.
