Hello, Inkborns!
Hope you're all doing well, enjoying the summer, the holidays, and playing some great games! Today we're introducing something we've already teased a little. Two new enemies - the Bear and the Will'O'The'Ink - are joining the forces of the Forest and will try to stop you as you make your way through the vast branches of the first act.
The Bear
A fearsome protector of the Forest. At first glance, it seems docile, but be ready when it awakens. The Bear introduces the new Protector mechanic, making it a true tank for its allies. 🐻
Will'O'The'Ink
A wispy creature that poses no threat to your precious health bar. Your Chronicle, on the other hand, can rise very quickly if you don't deal with it carefully. Stay focused, act quickly, and don't let those innocent eyes fool you. 👀
More Quality of Life improvements
We're getting closer to the release of the second Hero class, and we wanted to prepare the game for it with smoother frame rates and faster loading times. On the other hand, as we're improving the code and overall performance, we also wanted to fine-tune the timing of animations to make sure every strike (and every floating damage number you relentlessly inflict on your opponents) feels satisfying and well synchronized. 💻
Endless Mode is back!
Some of you asked us to bring Endless Mode back, so here it is! We've changed how some random events work during later Endless runs and - probably the most important change - enemies in Endless now have glowing red eyes! ♾️
Ideas prices
Many of you pointed out that the prices of Ideas in the City were just too damn high... and you were absolutely right! While we can't do much about oil prices in the real world, we did make sure that Rare Ideas now cost 80 instead of 160. If oil prices keep rising, we might have to reconsider... 😉🏷️
Balance changes
Based on evidence provided by -EcS- Jaryth000, where three Roots of the World dealt 80 damage on the second turn, we decided to calm them down a little. Our sincere apologies on behalf of our gardener, who apparently kept watering them with energy drinks. 😉 ⚖️
The combo discovery screen returns
We're bringing back the Combo Discovery screen with a fresh new look. It now covers the full display and, in our opinion, makes discovering a new combo feel much more magical. 🔎 ✨
Second Hero class
It's just around the corner - it only needs a little more polish. Next week we'll share another sneak peek, revealing some of the new cards coming with the second hero class. 🖌️ 🦸♀️
