Keep the feedback Coming! Forum changes, as well.

Hello, everyone!
On behalf of Zach and myself, I’d like to thank you all for downloading the update and for providing your feedback! While Half-Life 2: Update has been released, this project is far from over. We will be incorporating your feedback into the update to try and create the best Half-Life 2 experience possible, so keep the reports and suggestions coming!

There has also been a bit of confusion as to the purpose of the update which I’d like to address. The goal of Half-Life 2: Update is not to re-make or re-imagine Half-Life 2 but to update it in subtle ways that bring the visuals to the standards of Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and Half-Life 2: Episode 2. In-game textures have not been changed as our experiments with using new textures ended up distracting players rather than improving the fidelity in an organic way. There are mods that will replace and upscale textures that should work with the Update, and you are free to try them and share them with others in the forums.

Speaking of forums, we’ve just divided ours into multiple sections and are in the process of sorting existing posts into these new sections. We have a section for Suggestions and Bug Reports, a section for Questions, Concerns, or Compliments, and a General Discussion section for more free-form discussion. Please be sure to post your topic in the right section. It makes it much easier for us to address your feedback easily.

Thanks, and have fun!
