New
- Added a text variables system. Built on the simple foundation of ‘Replace this’ → ‘With this’. For example, you input {myVariable} in the variable field, and PREVIEW in the formatting field in the Variables window. You can now simply input {myVariable} when editing a card text as usual, and when the text is rendered on a card, it will format to a bold PREVIEW text with a big icon. I also added a shortcut to the documentation on the Frostzone website for variables in this new window
- Added a button to the top-right for central navigation. Card Engine will try to use your Steam profile picture for this button, otherwise it will default to a settings icon
- Set dpi to 300 in PNG metadata
- You can now right-click → duplicate Template cards
- You can now configure project card size in pixels
- Added a new ‘Help centre’ window
- Importing CSV files will now display an import-message window if there are problems or things you should know about (E.g. Multiple cells in the card ID column with duplicate IDs, or importing failed because the file is locked by Excel, etc)
- Images with large resolutions (Bigger than the card background) will now automatically be scaled to fit properly in the editor when added to a card (They will no longer extend to the point where you can’t grab the edges)
- Added the ability to use asset names when embedding text icons. (E.g. ). Note that when using asset names instead of indexes, you have to wrap the name in “, and the asset has to be added to the text icons window beforehand for the formatting to work. It is still recommended to use indexes where possible for performance reasons, as index has a "Use this" approach while asset names has a "Find this" approach that can slow down projects with massive amounts of cards
- Card IDs are now displayed in the editor, to make it easier to work with CSV. These IDs can be clicked to copy them
Changes
- UI Color scheme changes for better contrast
- The top-left logo is no longer used for returning to the main menu. Exiting a project is now done through the new central navigation panel
- Moved the ‘Help’ button from the settings to the new central navigation panel
- Moved the ‘Change project card size’ button from the settings to the new central navigation panel
- Moved the ‘Project Folder’ button from the settings to the new central navigation panel
- The settings is now opened from the new central navigation panel
- Removed the credits window and button from the loaded project scene. This is now only accessible from the Main Menu
- Card Engine now randomizes before the timestamp when generating unique IDs, as starting all IDs with the current year, month, day, hour, minute, second, and ms caused confusion due to similar prefixes when viewed in Excel etc
- Generated card IDs are now shorter to make it easier when working with CSV
- Raised the max import image resolution from 2048 px to 4096 px
- Several input fields with on end edit actions will now also trigger when the input field is disabled while selected. (E.g. Inputting a new position for an image, but closing the editor before the end edit trigger is applied)
- Renamed the ‘Cards’ tab to ‘Decks’
- Removed the text formatting examples window. The same button that used to open this window from the text component now opens the text formatting section of the documentation on the Frostzone Website
- .tmp files are now written to persistentDataPath
- Added an additional step to the data verification part of the save process
- Moved ‘Refresh Projects’ from the main menu/project hub to the new central navigation
- Removed the ‘Help’ button from the main menu settings (Now found in the new Help centre)
- Renamed the ‘Credits’ window to ‘About’
Fixes
- Fixed an issue where you could not properly write . in the custom card real life measurement size fields due to re-formatting
- The custom card size fields are now applied on end edit instead of on character change. This should prevent annoying and unwanted re-formatting while typing
- Fixed some input fields resetting when deactivated or when pressing Esc
- Dragging and dropping cards on the + button (To add new cards) will now properly add the dragged card to the deck
- Dragging and dropping cards on the deck name input field will now properly add the dragged card to the deck
- Fixed a bug that caused the right click → paste element functionality to not work as intended as you had to right click another element in order to get the paste option
- Fixed a bug in the xml error logger where the full error message was accidentally posted in the window intended for a brief message, resulting in the window stretching much further than intended
- Fixed the error logger brief message window displaying “Error message: ” twice before the message
- Fixed a bug that could cause the log files and exit buttons to not function properly in the error logger window
- Fixed an issue with Template ID generation reverting to a deprecated ID generation algorithm
