It’s been one year since Card Engine entered Early Access.
On the release day, Card Engine saw just a few sales and two reviews. But as my first commercial project, I wanted to take it seriously, for the people who chose to support it. I committed to a roadmap, with the long-term goal of building a flexible, affordable, standalone card design framework for creating, managing, and exporting TCG-style cards as image files.
About a month after launch, I published that roadmap. Since then, many items has been checked off though monthly-ish updates, with development guided by community feedback. The roadmap remains the clearest reflection of what’s been done - and what’s ahead.
The Vision Going Forward
The goal remains: a general-purpose card creation tool that’s fully featured and self-contained. I’m aiming for a full release in Q4 2025, though that timeline will be re-evaluated. There won’t be a release announcement until Card Engine is ready.
The next update
I wanted to have update 0.14 ready for today, but it needs a little more time in the oven, so I'm aiming for sometime next week.
Thank You
From the start, this project has been sustained by word of mouth and a small, supportive community. I’m grateful to everyone who helped shape it into what it is today, and looking forward to what it will be when it's ready for release.
