Hi, Gamers!
RolldBox Games development team Today with Ferran, one of our Co-Founders, as well as the Game Designer and Creative Director of the studio at RolldBox Games 👋
Explaining and sharing the creation and development process is a moment to look at the whole project, to zoom out, and put many of the activities performed into perspective to achieve the desired result.
Easy? Not at all! This is a project of many creatures, each with its own personality and characteristics, and with a lot of special life behind them. We will unveil everything soon!
Inside the Development Process
Let’s talk about the most special creature of Gladness: Arty!
This creature is a special form of life, with an incredible characteristic: he, and only he, can materialize the “light” of Anima, the essence of Gladness. How? That’s something that we will explain step by step, because Arty can reinforce the Anima within other creatures.
What does Arty look like?
🔹He is continuously rejuvenating himself!
🔹Generally happy but depressed at the beginning: he was wondered about losing his light!
🔹Loves being around other lifeforms and hates the Crud, that seams to be everywhere!
Do you want to see the model in detail? Defining the proper colours and textures for him was an intensive process of adjustments, balancing the life harmony and light around all the areas of Gladness, and here you have the result:
Sneak Peek of Upcoming Content
How did Alex arrive at Gladness?
Alex travels across different planets with her uncle Solomon to undertake various missions. She also has a specific one for Gladness. So, the ship is robust but not too big, allowing them to move through many different parts of space. But of course, Alex has her own particular room there—her special corner—with details we'll share later on.
More to share
We are able to share a demo of Alex&Arty in a local event called SAGA, and we will show some improvements related to Alex dealing with the Crud. How to do that? Very different possibilities using the ionizer! Results and feelings of internal testings were very good, let’s see what the gamers that will play will tell us!
