- Redesigned Skelebob to have more depth. He now has a rib cage that the player sits inside instead of a giant mouth. Updated Skelebob's skins to follow this new design.
- Added more depth to Copter's design. Copter now has four blades instead of two. Updated Copter's skins to follow this new design.
- Added additional detail or redesigned various other gear pieces and skins: Flame Cannon's default and Atomizer skins, Folding Blade's Fish and Fist skins, Chakram's Spiked skin, Plunger's default skin, and Warp Mine's default skin.

Background Art
- Sky Deck background: towers and clouds are larger and more detailed.
- Supervisor background: floating eyes are larger and more detailed. Added clouds.
- Jelly Tank background: jellyfish are larger and much more numerous. Added a slight glow around jellyfish and slightly increased their detail. Added large bubbles that float upward alongside jellyfish.
- Tweaked the color values of the available background tints to prioritize contrast with players and the stage. Also renamed some of them. The new names are Void, Nocturne, Abyss, Dusk, and Noir.
- Removed the "No Background" and "Hide Floaters" options. With the increased detail in the art style, the emptiness of a fully blank background was a little jarring.
Misc Art
- Avatar hurt expressions now align more precisely with hitstun starting and ending.
- Added separate aerial animations for Crossbow shooting and reloading.
- Redesigned the frozen ice cube effect for the Freezing Grease upgrade.

- Simplified gear descriptions in loadout menus.
- Removed the Choppy Rendering graphics option. This option reduced the rendering frame rate to improve performance, but recent performance improvements should make this unnecessary even on lower-end machines.
- Removed the Hide Floaters graphics option.
Story Missions
- Renamed "easy" difficulty to "normal".
- Completing "normal" difficulty for a given story mission is now required to unlock "veteran".
- Tweaked the layout of Story Mission Ch. 1. It should be more streamlined and less frustrating on veteran and expert difficulties.
- On expert difficulty, players now have 2 lives instead of 1.
Bugs
- Fixed buggy interactions with Copter's Hover and Parasol's down special that could occur when Auto Hover was turned off and a separate input for Hover was used.
- Fixed a bug where conveyor belt momentum could be maintained after getting KO'd.
- Fixed a bug where players could, in some situations, grab ledges when they shouldn't be able to.
