Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! Welcome to the first update of Baby Blues Nightmares! It was crazy, but hopefully this will fix some of the issues thanks to your feedback.
Firstly, I wish to take the time to tell you that I really appreciate all your support, comments, feedback and suggestions. I hope you enjoyed the game and if not - please don't hesitate to let me know your feedback. It really helps me out as a solo developer in trying my best to improve along the way!
The first update is now LIVE. It took some time because I was doing some major changes and huge bug fixes that I saw from certain playthroughs. Also a HUGE thank you everyone that played the game as well and recorded it! You have no idea how much this helps.
Thanks to the awesome feedback from many of you, I've implemented a highly requested feature - Replay Mode+ - You can now replay back Chapter 3 at your own pace! 🎮
I will be going through the biggest changes and list them here. One of them is the new Replay Mode+. This allows you to replay and start the game from the free roam chapter (Chapter 3) for you to do it at your own pace, find secrets and discover the map. This game mode unlocks after you have finished the game.
New Features on v1.2:
Replay Mode+: A lot of players mentioned they couldn’t easily replay the game because starting over from the first chapter was too tedious. And you were totally right! This new mode unlocks after you completed half of Chapter 3. It will appear in the Main Menu and then when you select it - which you can start a new game in the free-roam chapter and you can replay it at your own pace, find secrets, customize your tricycle, do things you missed and more!
Updated Map: Map have been improved and updated. In the map, you can zoom in much closer using your mouse scroll wheel and lots of landmarks have been updated which will make it easier to navigate the child care!
Saving System: You can now load your previous game files from any chapter - from Chapter 1 all the way to Chapter 5. Multiple save slots are now available, so you can keep different progress points instead of being forced to overwrite a single save file.
Please note 1: Some saving system can be corrupted due to this update. If so, I really apologize. It's advised to re-start to an earlier save or start at the start of Chapter 3.
PLEASE NOTE 2: If you have a save in Chapter 3, it's best you start an earlier save. Find the first save you have from Chapter 3 and reload it. This is to ensure there will be no bugs in the game because of the saving update.
Item Spawns: From playthroughs I noticed many players were getting lost or having trouble finding certain items and objectives. To help with this, the following improvements have been made: New object points have been added throughout the game, spawning in various locations. These changes make it easier to find key items and navigate to important objectives, reducing frustration while trying to maintain the thrill of exploration.
Apart from these changes above there were other smaller ones such as these:
- Fixed crash issues happening to some players. This was very hard to pinpoint - but hopefully it's been fixed. Let me know if some of you are still getting this error.
- Increased the enemies eye sight and speed.
- Updated some sounds and audio in the game.
- Updated a ton of bug fixed and issues in the game.
- Some jumpscares have also been reworked and updated.
- Done some in-game optimizations.
- Updated prefabs and textures in some areas.
Next I will be working on controller, steamdeck and some other things. Please do let me know if you have any suggestions of feedbacks! It really helps out. I appreciate you all! Thanks and have a great day!
