Hi Builders! 👷🏼♂️
Today is a BIG DAY - The BIGGEST House Builder 2 update. Check our trailer🎬
What you can expect?🕵
💎 OLD SAVES
🔹 Existing saves load and are migrated to the new progression automatically but might break in one way or another and its highly recommended to start over.
🔹 Loading an older save offers to start over. A new playthrough is recommended, because the early game has new jobs, mechanics and tutorials.
💎 NEW BUILDING MECHANICS
🔹 Nailing: placed planks, boards and roof tiles have to be nailed down. Strike while the marker is in the green zone. A mistimed hit drives the nail in crooked.
🔹 Screwing: terrace boards and plasterboard are fastened with a Screwdriver. Hold to build torque and release inside the green band. Holding too long strips the screw.
🔹 Mortar: blocks and bricks are laid in mortar. Mix dry mortar and water in a Bucket or Concrete Mixer, stir, then spread it with the Mason Trowel before laying the next course. Mortar left standing dries out.
🔹 Tiling: floor tiles need a bed of tile adhesive, mixed and spread like mortar.
Insulation: fill wall cavities with the Foam Gun and trim the overfill with the Foam Knife before boarding over.
🔹 Plaster sanding: sand fresh plaster smooth with the Orbital Sander.
🔹 Mess and cleanup: plastering and painting too fast splatters the floor. Clean it with a Broom before the job finishes.
🔹 Step ladder: place it next to a wall to reach roofs and other high spots.
🔹 Existing jobs use the new mechanics too.
💎 JOB QUALITY SCORE
🔹 Work is graded as you do it. Nailing, Screwing, Mortar, Tile Adhesive, Insulation, Plastering, Sanding, Painting, Cutting and Cleanliness each get their own rating.
🔹 A live score panel shows during work, with a full breakdown when the job is finished.
🔹 Better quality means better pay.
💎 22 NEW JOBS
🔹 Garden wall repair, Beach deck, Garden office, Suburb garage
🔹 Roadside cleanup, Beach cottage repaint, Workshop wall, Hotel courtyard
🔹 Promenade kiosk, Town facades, Café terrace
🔹 Garden pond, Campsite slab, Campsite washblock, Villa driveway, Raised beds, Boardwalk, Garage partition
🔹 Sawmill order, Creek footbridge, Rockfall clearance, Old bunker
💎 PHONE
🔹 Opened with G by default, or D-pad up on a controller. Apps unlock as you progress.
🔹 Jobs: browse available work.
🔹 Perks: spend perk points.
🔹 Delivery: order materials for the current job without driving to the store, and reorder owned tools for a small fee.
🔹 Driver: the designated driver app.
🔹 Help: re-read any tutorial.
💎 WORLD, SHOPS AND PROGRESSION
🔹 The job chain was rebuilt around the new skills. Every job shows what it teaches, which skills it uses and what it unlocks before you accept it.
🔹 The base has moved to a new yard near your house and is cheaper. Stockpiles, the garage, the tow truck and the designated driver unlock through different jobs.
🔹 Vehicles unlock through different jobs, and some are parked in new places, including the Rusty pickup and the Backhoe.
🔹 New shops: a second full-range Fixtorama in town, a furniture store with 45 new furniture items, a sawmill timber row and a mine-supply shed.
🔹 Both Fixtorama stores are reorganised into a tool corner and material aisles.
🔹 New furniture placement stages at the end of some jobs.
🔹 New tutorial tips for every mechanic.
🔹 New Steam achievements.
💎 PERKS AND BALANCE
🔹 The perk tree is rebuilt, rebalanced and split into three tabs: Player upgrades, Tools and vehicles, Permits and jobs.
🔹 New perk lines include Premium Rate, Client Goodwill, Craftsman's Bonus, Safety Margin, Spring Step, Sledgehammer Power, Cleanup Efficiency, Delivery Logistics and Better Shop III-IV.
🔹 XP is rebalanced across all jobs. Story and dialogue stages no longer give XP, and the level curve lasts until the end of the game.
🔹 Base stockpile prices scale with the value of the material they produce.
💎 UI REFRESH
🔹 New look across all menus and panels: selection frame, slider value readouts, switch-style toggles and a dimmed backdrop behind open panels.
🔹 The settings menu is split into Display, Graphics, Audio and Gameplay sections.
🔹 New HUD elements: stage progress, required tools and an unspent perk points reminder.
🔹 The jobs list, map and accept prompt show the job's full pay, including the advance.
💎 FIXES AND IMPROVEMENTS
💠 Economy and shops
🔹 Shop discount perks now reduce the price you pay. Before, the discount only appeared on the price label.
🔹 Selling a pallet or bundle at the resell point pays for the whole stack instead of one unit.
🔹 Fixed an exploit where re-entering an accepted job's area let you accept it again, paying the advance again.
🔹 Jobs no longer ask you to buy materials the client already provides in the crate.
🔹 The car upgrade purchase prompt shows the upgrade's name and price.
🔹 The money counter no longer switches between "$1000" and "1000$", and prices no longer show decimal commas on some system languages.
💠 Jobs and tutorials
🔹 Tutorial progress is saved with your game, so tips no longer replay after reloading or returning to a job site.
🔹 Tutorial history no longer carries over between save slots.
🔹 Fixed a tip being skipped when two tips appeared back to back.
🔹 Finished tutorial objectives no longer stay on the side panel.
🔹 Fixed the last tutorial hint of a job staying on screen after its step was done.
🔹 Blowing up one stick of dynamite no longer destroys the whole bundle.
🔹 The concrete truck pipe no longer swings away when aiming at the sky or at something far away.
🔹 Cut pieces from the beam-cutting machine no longer fall through the ground or get stuck on the trestles.
🔹 The rubbish collection counter no longer shows "30/30" when revisiting a site.
💠 Map and navigation
🔹 The navigation route no longer flickers between roads, drags behind you, or breaks when switching between the minimap and the big map.
🔹 If no road route is found, a straight guide line is shown.
🔹 The inventory bar no longer covers the big map.
💠 controls and controller
🔹 Pressing Cross/A at a shop stand no longer buys and picks up an item in the same press.
🔹 Closing a panel no longer always opens the pause menu.
🔹 Designated driver: vehicle placement reaches further than 8 m, and placing a vehicle no longer fires the tool in your hand.
💠 carrying and placing objects
🔹 A quick tap no longer grabs and nudges objects.
🔹 Tapping the rotate key stands a held object upright.
🔹 Furniture rotates in 15° steps.
💠UI and text
🔹 Perk tree connection lines have the correct length at every resolution, including Steam Deck.
🔹 The garage upgrade panel fits the screen, the minimap no longer covers its Back button, and the HUD returns when the panel is closed with Esc.
🔹 Perk descriptions show upgrade values.
🔹 Changing the language updates the required materials readout immediately.
🔹 Items that showed internal names now have proper ones, such as Rubbish, Tall grass, Paint Roller, Finishing Trowel and Terrace Board.
🔹 Fixed the "Buy tool slot" typo, which was also mistranslated in every language.
