SPACE CHAOS – Gameplay & Balance Update

Chaos Crew,

This one isn’t flashy — but it changes a LOT under the hood.

We’ve reworked core gameplay rules, cleaned up systems, improved readability, and fixed a ridiculous amount of issues.

The result: clearer decisions, smoother chaos, and less random frustration.

CORE GAMEPLAY CHANGES

Cargo System Rework

- Cargos now have conditions (radioactivity, disease, etc.)

- Destinations are now hidden from Cargo Intel

- Only ONE valid destination

- Cargo scanning is no longer mandatory

- Every cargo rarity can now appear from the very first portal

- Target cargo count adjusted (50 → 30)

- Less guessing. More intent.

Conditions, Chaos & Events

- Events are now randomized at each Chaos threshold

- Event icon is displayed directly in the Chaos Gauge

- Increased delay between events

- Removed several early-game events for better onboarding

Chaos is still here — just more readable.

Fire, Creatures & Absolute Nonsense

- Fire damage over time reduced

- Fire now spreads more consistently through ground interactions

- Llamas can now spread fire

Virus overhaul:

- Untreated death → zombie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Zombies clean up properly (no infinite corpses)

- Virus logic clarified and improved

- Creatures can now be radioactive

Tools, Movement & Feel

- Tool weight increased (positioning matters more)

Gravity tuning:

- Reduced world gravity

- Improved 0G behavior

- Flight acceleration and max speed increased

- Magnet, Repulsor and several tools fixed and improved

UX, HUD & Feedback

- Updated HUD (Current / Target cargo display)

- Virus & event icons added to HUD

- Improved victory screen feedback and VOIP positioning

- New VFX for fire, healing, goo, damage, spectator mode

- Tutorial fixes and polish

Fixes (Yes, many.)

- Major multiplayer replication fixes

- Collision fixes (characters, cargos, tools)

- Removed physics-related exploits and “random deaths”

- Fixed scoring, rez edge cases, event desyncs

- General stability & performance improvements

This update lays the groundwork for future content and better pacing.

As always — feedback is welcome. Chaos is iterative.

Stay safe, Agents.
