After 9 months of hard work, Skyward Dream is finally finished and ready for you to experience! What began as a simple game-jam idea during the 7DFPS game jam on December 8th, 2023, has transformed into something much bigger than I originally envisioned. Back in January, I made the decision to expand this concept into a full-fledged game—and now, it’s here.
What’s included in the final product?
- First-Person Platforming – The heart of the game is all about navigating a dreamy world through your platforming abilities.
- Abilities That Grow With You – As you progress, you’ll unlock new skills that help you tackle increasingly complex challenges, mirroring your growth within the game.
- Pages of Your Mind – Dive deep into the layers of your subconscious, uncovering memories and thoughts hidden within your mind. Collect all the pieces to continue your journey.
- Sleep Paralysis Cycle – The game focuses on the stages of sleep, with a unique twist in the Sleep Paralysis stage where a floating, interactable book becomes central to your exploration.
- Layered Exploration – The Deep Sleep stage now consists of multiple Layers, each symbolizing an internal struggle like Fear of Transformation or Overthinking.
- Intriguing Storyline – Discover who you are, the identity of the mysterious voice in the Sleep Paralysis stage, and whether escape from your own mind is even possible.

I’m committed to making Skyward Dream even better in the coming months! Here are some exciting updates that are planned to arrive before the end of 2024:
- Steam Achievements – If you’re a fan of unlocking achievements (like me!), you’ll be happy to know that achievements are coming soon. Track your progress and show off your accomplishments as you explore the game.
- New Game+ Mode – For those looking to experience the story again with everything unlocked and a greater challenge, New Game+ will give you a fresh perspective once you’ve completed the main story.
- Challenge Mode – Are you a speedrunner or someone who thrives on overcoming tough obstacles? Challenge Mode will bring a higher level of difficulty designed specifically for you.
- Relax Mode – If you’re in the mood for something more laid-back, Relax Mode lets you jump and explore an endless path without the pressure of completing objectives. Perfect for those moments when you just want to unwind.
These updates are planned to be released before the end of 2024, bringing even more depth and replayability to Skyward Dream.
