Generals!
Skirmishes just got that much more exciting as we announce the release of two new Zones and a new Zone Action, that will certainly have your opponent (and yourself) rethinking their strategy!
The aforementioned Zones represent a significant step for Vanguard Exiles, introducing the first Zones capable of temporarily modifying stats while a Unit is in the zone. This lays the groundwork for future Zones that can influence Units in a variety of new and interesting ways.
And with that knowledge in mind, time to reveal the Zones!
New Zones: Watchtower and Marshland
Watchtower
Ranged Units gain a glow-up in this Zone, giving them additional 1 point to their Range and 1 additional Attack, turning them from ranged attackers to lethal assailants. Whether you're looking to disrupt your opponents strategy or leverage your own, the Watchtower will elevate your ranged attackers to new heights.
Marshland
Units that already have Last Strike get the spotlight here as all Units within this Zone have Last Strike! Zombies, Acolytes, Turrets, Trolls, Steam Tanks are just some of the Units who no longer stand at the end of the line waiting for their chance to attack while in this Zone, with First Strike (and 'normal strike') Units losing their combat edge.
New Zone Action: Steroid Vapor
Now here's an awesome addition to the array of game actions that gives Units a nice pump! At the start of each Skirmish, all Units in the Zone permanently gain +1 to their health, making them incrementally harder to deal with as the game goes on. But be warned, the buff within this Zone is for ALL Units, not just yours, so make sure you have a strategy in place to handle your opponents' Units!
Squad Stats
A Stats panel has been introduced to the Squad Management screen, giving players insight into the Win/Loss streaks with each Squad, respective across the various game modes. In future, these stats will be tied to Achievements, and more excitingly, Unlockable items for players to strive for!
Along with these fine new additions to the game you'll find a host of tweaks and bugs fixes, so for those with inquisitive minds, the changelog underneath the sign-off below will give you the details you're chasing.
Until next time, and as always, keep smiling and keep on skirmishing.
Cheers!
