Version 0.43 introduces a quest-based tutorial that guides you from your first flight through research, ship upgrades, exploration, blueprints and combat, while also rebalancing early progression and fixing missing Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters.
New
Added a tutorial campaign with ten quests, from setting your first course to returning safely after completing the five learning paths.
New games let you choose whether to play the tutorial. The tutorial is enabled by default.
Added a quest journal with active, upcoming and completed quests, objective progress and rewards.
Added detailed help articles for tutorial steps, with control hints that reflect keyboard bindings and controller input.
Added one-time milestone bonuses for early resource deliveries, sales, research and upgrades.
Added dedicated tutorial destinations for finding a blueprint and fighting a pirate, with guidance that checks your ship's equipment before sending you into these encounters.
Changes
Rebalanced research, ship-system, sector-search and sector-upgrade costs to make early progression more accessible.
Tutorial rewards provide the credits and resources needed for the guided research, Simple Laser installation and initial sector searches.
Blueprint availability now takes sector danger, research level and rarity into account, and starter-sector blueprints favor systems compatible with the starter ship.
Blueprint decryption costs now scale with the target system, rarity and variant.
Reduced the price impact of trading individual units. Market pressure now recovers over time, including while you are away from the station.
UI / UX
Contextual instructions follow your current objective and point to the next available action. Flight guidance also marks your destination in space.
Guidance can be paused or collapsed. Each new tutorial save opens the introduction automatically.
Guidance avoids hidden, disabled or blocked controls and helps you close resource windows before continuing your flight.
Improvements
Improved tutorial progress recovery when loading a save or when research and equipment requirements have already been completed.
Unfinished combat objectives can be retried after a failed expedition. Completed quests retain their progress and rewards are granted once.
Blueprint objectives distinguish between expedition data and blueprints secured by a successful return.
Resource rewards that do not fit in storage remain available in a reward reserve.
Exploration scan progress carries across sectors, with guidance directing you to another sector when no unscanned objects remain.
Replacing an installed ship system now stops if there is not enough storage space to return the old system.
Graphics
Fixed missing Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters in localized text. Additional characters can now be generated automatically from the fonts included with the game.
Windows now uses DirectX 11 by default. The options screen shows the active graphics API and identifies DirectX 12 as experimental.
