Greetings, Defenders!
We’re back with a chunky update on Defenders of Etheria (DOE) covering community channels, Kickstarter fulfillment, fresh content, and a peek at fearsome new foes. This is the first of several updates coming your way, so let’s dive in!
Join the Conversation (New Discord Channel)
We’ve opened a dedicated DOE channel you can enable during Discord onboarding. It’s the best place to chat directly with the dev team, report feedback, and shape the future of DOE. I’ll be hanging out there daily to share progress and turn your best ideas into in-game improvements. See you in the Tavern DOE channel!
Kickstarter Fulfillment
All in-game rewards are complete and finalized. We’re in the final stretch of setup: the only blocker is confirming our code redemption flow for DOE rewards. As soon as that’s locked, backer surveys will hit your inbox. If you’ve got fulfillment questions, the new Discord channel is the quickest way to get answers; otherwise, shoot an email to [email protected]!
Content Drop (Teasers Without Spoilers)
We want to keep plenty of surprises for launch, but here are today’s highlights:
New Map - Volcano Plateau
Welcome to Embermount’s blistering frontier, where vents roar and the ground itself fights back. Expect hazardous terrain, new enemy types, and a fresh boss. Volcano Plateau marks our third DOE map! And there's more on the way!
Controller & Steam Deck Support
DOE is now fully playable on controller and Steam Deck. Core gameplay feels tight and responsive; remaining work is mostly UI scaling and glyph polish. Grab a controller during the next playtest and let us know how it feels in longer sessions.
Objectives System
Crank up the challenge and stack the rewards. Our new Objectives layer adds optional twists to your runs. Balance risk for reward challenges that pay out rare loot, XP, and currencies. We’ve made seven to start and want your ideas for more. What wild challenges do you want to see?
New Bosses (3!)
Three never-before-seen bosses have entered the fray, ranging from downright terrifying to… unexpectedly furry. Their identities remain secret (for now), but each encounter is tuned to deliver a unique tactical puzzle with memorable mechanics. Teasers are coming soon.
How You Can Help
We’d love your feedback, especially on:
Objectives: What should we build next?
Boss fights: Who do you want to fight in Defenders of Etheria?
Drop everything in the DOE Discord channel. We’ll be reading daily and iterating fast.
What’s Next
Backer surveys: Rolling out once code redemption is finalized.
Boss teasers: Short previews to introduce abilities and lore hooks.
More gameplay mechanics & meta progression: We’re expanding the sandbox in parallel with polish.
Thanks for defending Etheria with us. Your feedback is shaping DOE every week! See you soon on the Volcano Plateau!
For Etheria!
