I'm tweaking gravity out of part of the game, here's a sneak peak at what it looks like and how its going.
Why gravity?
Three biomes in, I have become very used to the feel and weight of the game, and feel like that needs a shake up on later biomes. New traps, new enemies and new items all offer new options some of them modify gravity like the Umbrella but it just made sense to bring that to a hazard.
Meanwhile the story keeps pushing into weirder territory, the deeper Danforth goes, the less the mountain behaves like a mountain. It seemed wrong for the physics to stay exactly the same while that happened.
Bubbles of ???
Eldritch Climb has always had low gravity to allow for interesting air movement and bigger consequences for mismanaging momentum. Inside these bubbles, gravity barely exists at all. You keep every bit of momentum you brought in with you, until something takes it away from you.
That cuts both ways. A bubble turns a gap you couldn't cross into one you can. It also turns a small mistake into a bigger one.

What is this place?
The fourth biome is the last leg of Danforth's journey, and it' still pretty much in the oven. I'll keep posting these as it comes together.
If you haven't been down to the Gurgling Caves yet, that's the zone right before this one.
Tell me what you think
Right now the bubbles are both a tool and a hazard, and I'm still tweaking them constantly. What do you think?
I read everything in the comments.
