Hello everyone! This update focuses on an issue affecting certain world seeds, where small but important sections near the edge of the world could be obscured by black clouds and become inaccessible. We have also prioritized clearer descriptions for several progression-critical quests, while adjusting a Desert challenge and addressing other gameplay issues.
This fix only restores map content that should have generated normally but was mistakenly covered by the black-cloud region. The normal black clouds around the edge of the world are unaffected, and areas designed to be inaccessible will remain inaccessible.
Other Updates
We have prioritized clearer descriptions for several quests that are important to game progression. These include what Sgt. Chili collects and how to construct the Museum, the completion requirement for Rohen’s “Top Seller,” and the objectives and rewards for Lin’s “Strange Ingredients.” We will continue improving guidance for other quests so that the next steps are easier to understand.
Adjusted the number of enemies in the shipwreck challenge in the Desert, reducing the original two 2-star Sand Wyverns to one. After retesting this wave, we agree that its difficulty was not appropriately tuned. Thank you very much for your feedback!
Added sustainable ways to obtain Desert King Coins. After defeating the Desert King at least once, you can purchase them from Rohen’s shop. Starred Sand Wyverns now also have a chance to drop them. We have not added a crafting recipe because we want to preserve the connection between boss Coins and their corresponding Workstations. The Desert King Workstation is currently planned for a future area. We will continue monitoring how Coins are obtained in actual gameplay.
Your profile portrait now updates immediately after changing your hairstyle or hair color.
Fixed an issue where some preset items found in the world started with less durability than intended.
Fixed an issue in some older saves where leaving the RV in the ruins could teleport the player back to the Starting Point.
Added 15 Wood to the chest rewards in “No Holiday for Archers,” reducing the chance of becoming stuck later due to insufficient materials.
Improved one of the mechanisms in “Why The Long Face.”
We have also added a loading-screen tip about batch-harvesting crops. Here is an early reveal of a trick that many players may not have discovered yet: a copper Hoe can harvest four tiles at once, while transforming into Mousey-Mouse lets you harvest an entire row with a single bite! The Blackbird’s second skill can also color furniture in place of Spray Cans.
These are tips for existing mechanics, not abilities newly added in this update.
Issues We Are Prioritizing and Expect to Fix Soon
On Mac, connecting to another player on the same local network may fail.
Players may be unable to mount the giant crab again after it stops at the water’s edge.
We are also continuing to record feedback about other gameplay experiences and have plans in place for future adjustments.
