Q. We hope for more play opportunities like alpha tests before the open beta to keep players engaged and interested.
We are currently focusing our development efforts across various areas including expedition, action, progression, and housing systems. While we are doing our utmost to deliver a high-quality experience, we kindly ask for your understanding, as we are not yet in a position to provide a concrete timeline. We will continue to share updates through future Dev Talks to address your questions and keep you informed. Once again, we sincerely thank you for your continued interest and support.
Q. Will there be various types of melee weapons? And will players be able to craft and upgrade them?
Yes. There are various types of melee weapons, each differing in performance depending on their category. Weapons are classified as either one-handed or two-handed based on how they are equipped. Players can choose between sharp weapons such as knives or blunt weapons like baseball bats. Armor also comes in a wide range of materials, from soft to rigid and from lightweight to heavy options. All of these items can be crafted at the workbench located in your shelter.
Q. I'm curious how the development team is going to address the cheating issue.
We fully recognize the importance of anti-cheat efforts and are investing heavily to protect gameplay integrity. While we cannot disclose technical details, we plan to implement a standard anti-cheat program, along with enhanced server-side validation, similar to what is commonly used in MMORPGs. Most importantly, we will spare no expense when it comes to addressing hacks and cheats. We think that anti-cheat measures in the gaming industry is a constant battle between offense and defense. It is an ongoing challenge where new exploits are always emerging, and we’re prepared to make continuous investments to stay ahead of emerging threats.
Q: In a game centered around zombie survival and PvP, is a stealth system really necessary?
In NAKWON, players can adopt a wide range of survival strategies. Among these, stealth play is offered as one form of evasive play. If stealth is selected as a primary specialty, players will be able to acquire stealth-related skills through the trait tree. For players who prefer more direct combat, other specialties focused on offensive tactics will be available. In a post-apocalyptic world, players will adopt a wide range of playstyles to survive, and we're preparing the game to allow stealth to be one of many flexible survival strategies depending on the situation.
Q. Is there a plan to release the game on mobile platforms?
There are currently no plans for a mobile release. The game is being developed exclusively for PC, and we remain fully focused on delivering a high-quality experience.
Q. In similar games within the genre, issues like teaming, cheating, and excessive abusive play for rewards have been problematic. I'm curious how the team plans to address these issues.
This is a common challenge faced by all multiplayer games, and we believe it requires ongoing and proactive measures. We are actively exploring a variety of solutions. Please note that these plans outlined below may change as development progresses and the game approaches launch. 1. Anti-Cheat Measures2. Penalty Measures
- Basic Measures: Implementation of standard anti-cheat programs and foundational safeguards
- Additional Measures: Introduction of server-side validation logic, and the design itself to reduce the chance of hack penetration
- Other Considerations: Teaming restrictions, anti-abuse mechanisms, and marketplace design
3. Performance Based Match Making
- Enforcement will be aligned with Nexon’s overall policy standards
- We are considering a level of enforcement as strong as those used in MMORPGs to ensure fairness and integrity
- We aim to prevent players with large skill gaps from being matched together
- Matchmaking will be based on a custom MMR system that evaluates a player’s overall performance, particularly their proficiency in looting
- Equipment setup will not influence matchmaking or MMR, as gear choices are considered a matter of personal strategy
Q. Revolvers were available during the pre-alpha test. Will other firearms be available in the next test?
We’re re-evaluating our original weapon plans with a more flexible mindset We are not aiming to add weapons that can deal overwhelming damage, but we are cautiously exploring the possibility of providing various other options beyond just the revolver We kindly ask for your understanding that we cannot provide a more specific answer at this time
