Hello raiders!
It is exciting and also difficult to write these words.
There are moments during the development of a video game when you ask yourself if that day will ever actually arrive.
Moments when you try to predict when that day will come, but predictions are simply impossible to make. A bit like the ancients did, when they wondered if the Sun would go out again and night would devour the day, trying in every way to perform increasingly precise calculations to predict that day. Their destiny depended on that event.
Our Eclipse, the beginning of a new cycle, is here.
It all started from an initial spark: a biological ship, a human brain implanted into the cold hull of a spaceship. A humanity forcibly ripped from its shell, left without eyes, hands, or legs, installed in an unmanned metal hull.
And then a space combat game set in an original universe, where weird fiction, transhumanism, and dark sci-fi epic would come to life.
We, of course, had no idea where this journey would lead us.
First enthusiasm, then frustration, then enthusiasm again.
The first time you look at a scene and think: "Hell yes, this is exactly what we wanted to see".
A group of colleagues, then friends, plunging into the coils of a galaxy as beautiful as it is lethal. A place into which we poured ideas, time, passion, and a disproportionate amount of energy. A game born from a vision and grown thanks to all the people who decided to accompany us.
After years of development, countless builds, bugs, tests, changes, discarded ideas, last-minute recovered ideas, and lots and lots of coffee (yes, we drink coffee in Neterun too)...
Hell Galaxy has finally reached its Version 1.0.
On July 31, 2025, we opened the coils of the Galaxy of Neterun to you for the first time. So many of you played, giving us valuable feedback that helped us shape the experience we wanted to deliver.
And yes, we were a little scared too. Because Hell Galaxy ceased to be just ours and finally became yours. Every raider out there who decided to take our hand and accompany us on this journey left a mark on the game and on us.
Version 0.9, published on March 20, 2026, was the great turning point, where Hell Galaxy was finally becoming the game we had imagined at the beginning of this adventure.
And here we are, finally.
We peek out from the treacherous clouds of Neterun to tell you about v 1.0.
This major update brings the story and lore of the game universe to a conclusion, adding about five hours of new main quest content before culminating in the final battles against the Colossi, forcing players to confront what it means to be human in this hellish galaxy.
And as we look at this version, we don't just see how much we have built, but what you raiders out there have helped build. V1.0 also introduces a series of updates, improvements, and fixes based on what you told us throughout the game's development.
In short, Version 1.0 marks the completion of Hell Galaxy and offers the full experience the team spent many years building.
So, what are the main things you will find in this release?
First of all, the conclusion of the main story. We changed several dialogues right from the start of the game and added several missions that complete the main line, now that we can finally release the complete version of the story.
Then, an entire new game area: the Neterunian Ruins. A forgotten world where you raiders will face old ghosts and new challenges, and learn a bit more about Neterun's past, through main missions and new side quests.
And then new bosses, among them the gigantic creatures that have characterized us since this project took its first steps: the titanic Colossi!
These are central boss battles in the lore and gameplay of Hell Galaxy, inevitably intertwined with the story of you exiles of Neterun (as those of you who played the Early Access version already know). What were once distant presences now become more concrete than ever.
These are just some of the main things we released.
There are new neural fragments to find, new ancient memories to unlock, two new types of creatures, Locusts and Gunlaxy, that will threaten your exile more fiercely than ever.
We have further revised the balance between the three different game modes, allowing you to make a more informed choice on how to face the Galaxy of Neterun—whether to prioritize the story or test your combat skills against brutal enemies.
In short, this update is central to the history of this project, and we can't wait for you to experience it to the end, up to the last battle and the last fragment of your past, in search of your lost humanity.
A look to the future
There's one thing we want to clarify.
Version 1.0 is the end of Early Access, but not the end of Hell Galaxy.
For us behind the scenes, and for you raiders out there, it is the beginning of a new phase.
During Early Access you helped us build this universe. You reported issues, suggested improvements, discussed mechanics, believing in the project when it was still far from being what it is today.
That's why we will continue to support, fix, and improve the game.
We want to explore with you all the possibilities that Neterun offers us, because we still have so many stories to tell in our distant world, where humanity is a memory and the only law is that of the raiders.
In the Roadmap, we present what will be the game's first official expansion, but it doesn't end there. Neterun gives us the chance to bring to life themes close to our hearts, experiences we want you to try, and the danger and solitude of deep space.
We are in space, in the cosmic void, but we are not alone, thanks to you raiders out there who continue to support us and play, play, play in our dangerous Galaxy.
So, let's enjoy the beginning of this great adventure together.
Now Neterun is completely yours, and for the first time in a long time, we can take a step back and look at what we built together.
May the Sun peek through again after the eclipse, and may your exile finally begin.
And whatever you find on the other side, remember that a new being becomes a raider only if they truly commit.
See you in the full version.
Until then…
Farewell, raiders!
The HELL GALAXY team
