There are already lots of ultra-creative levels created by our beta testers over the past week.
An anniversary event is going live, where you get to explore several of the custom levels :)

Level Editor is unlocked after Level 2-10 "Sergeant's Plateau"

(If you have trouble downloading levels, right click on the game in your Steam library, Properties > Installed Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files)

Tune in next week for the OO Anniversary Part 2, an early access to the Volcanic Ridge turret "Whale Artillery"...

If you encounter any bugs while playing, please report them to me on Discord!

Balance Changes

  • Frosty Pistol Shrimp attack range increased from 7 to 8.5

  • Frosty Shrimp is one of the worst Frosty upgrades there is, with its low cost being its only advantage, which is simply not worth spending a precious Elixir on. I had considered letting Frosty Shrimp always target the closest enemy instead, but I did want Shrimp to remain as the strictly-single-target slowing option.

  • The range increase will hopefully compensate for Shrimp projectile's slow travel, so that it manages to slow down a target sooner during its approach. More importantly, upgrading a Shrimp into Frosty will now allow you to target a cannon that is shooting at your Mussel, which could seriously change up the early-game dynamics.

  • This is also part of the recent design philosophy shift, where Frosty turrets gain additional utility aside from slowing.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a glitch where an UI tab (for page toggle) can jitter up-and-down when the mouse cursor hovers at its bottom

  • Reported by Raphael

  • Added additional precautions against a corrupt save overwriting your actual save

  • Added save-error handling when attempting to load a corrupt save file

  • Added in-game backup save recovery options if an error occurs while loading a corrupt save file

  • Fixed a glitch where hammering a Gadget during a regular level returns a free Gadget card that goes onto the sushi belt

  • This change is to maintain the logical consistency of Hammer's effect when regular & Turret Clams co-exist - Turrets that you purchased always refund pearls, while turrets acquired for free always return turret cards. Sadly, this does mean that in 3-10, you can no longer get multiple copies of each gadget by recycling them.

  • Fixed a glitch where a tooltip panel's backdrop would fail to display if any tooltip text is missing

  • Fixed a glitch where Level 3-5 "Graveyard Shift" started with 30 Pearls instead of 0

  • Fixed a glitch where collectors cannot attempt to pick up Elixirs or Cards while your inventory is full

  • Fixed a glitch where early level tutorial arrows render behind the UI

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Misc Changes

  • Significant memory performance improvements

  • Some super hardcore optimizations happened to the game, to help those who play on laptops without dedicated VRAM - As the game grows in scale over the future years, it will no longer risk crashing on weaker hardwares. This truly is OO 2.0 - The game's entire project structure has changed!

  • Added a Festive Island biome where past special events are archived

  • Yep, if you missed the April Fools event, you can go back and play it any time now B)

  • Level Selection bubbles & Biome icons now wobble in place and play sound effects when hovered over

  • Added biome icons on the world map

  • Graveyard Skeleton Key shop items now have biome icons on their sprites

  • Added new Treat Bucket quests, and re-arranged quest priorities

  • When selling multiple turrets inside Graveyard, you can no longer exit the Graveyard region before ALL coins have been spawned

  • Replaced main menu's Twitter link with a YouTube channel link
