Mouthwashing turns one today. Wild, right?
Thank You (For Real)
A year ago to the date we launched a five-crew member cargo ship out into the Steam space. We weaved the story, but you breathed life into it. Since then, Mouthwashing has grown into something far stranger than we could ever imagine.
You turned Mouthwashing into a whole community for everyone sharing a love for an occasional existential dread, bizarre theories, cursed screenshots and cool fanart [so much fanart! Oh, btw, #MouthwashingWeek2025, we see you, and we love it 👀]. Your support means a lot.
Thank you for your feedback, your feral memes, and walking with us through every turn and corner of Tulpar and human psyche.
We’ve prepared something for the occasion. Shall we?
It feels like only yesterday we were nervous about finally hitting the release button, and checking the first reviews.
But time flies.
And just as the Mouthwashing story is never a straight line, leaping from future to past to present, let’s celebrate the story so far the only way that truly fits: by letting you time-travel.
Anniversary DLC: Three Blasts From The Past
Welcome the three pre-release builds, bundled as an Anniversary DLC, so you can see How Mouthwashing Is Made:
- First Playable Build with core content: when most of the game finally clicked together (and the crew fell apart, repeatedly).
- Older Demo: a fossil from a much earlier era; cut content check anyone?
- Official Demo Reincarnated: back for the fans who begged to replay it. We heard you. Bon apettit.
Treat it like a time capsule. An exhibit A at the Museum of Mouthwash. Expect rough corners, odd seams, and a lot of heart.
A New Trailer
To mark the occasion, we cut a brand-new trailer. If you’ve been meaning to introduce a friend to Mouthwashing’s particular brand of “what did I just witness”, this is your ah moment.
And if the game prompts weren’t enough:
Share it.
Haunt your group chat.
Convert a skeptic. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY.
Behind the Scenes
We’ve teamed up with Joetastic ) for a little something-something to sweeten the anniversary.
You might have caught glimpses of it during the CRITICAL REFLEX TIME showcase.
Think of it as our little take on What if... Mouthwashing was a movie? And since you’ve already played one [if not – what are you waiting for? go!], we’re getting you the bloopers and behind-the-scenes reels from that imaginary movie set.
Who’s That Chibi??
Guess what? Mouthwashing gets a Nendoroid, our first collectible figurine, a child of a fruitful collaboration with Good Smile Company!
Can you guess who that is?
Q&A — Extended!
We’re extending the Q&A question-gathering window and spinning it into its own post so this one doesn’t turn into a novella.
Leave your questions under this post or…
Discord:
What to ask?
Ask about lore, pipes, secrets, development chaos, or why Polle looks at you like that [or maybe ask a therapist, Jimmy]. Anything. You can ask anything. And we… Well, we’ll answer the most interesting or haunting ones.
MORE TO COME

This has been quite a journey. We’re not saying goodbyes, not yet. Here’s to another year!
