Hello everyone!
First of all... how are you surviving this heat?☀️
Here in Italy we're slowly melting together with our PCs, but somehow we've still managed to finish another update! Gaspard keeps reminding us to drink water every five minutes... we suspect he's becoming more responsible than the rest of the team.
So, let's see what's new!
🎭New Customer Characters!
We've officially started replacing all customer characters!
First of all... goodbye to the legendary "scratching the leg while watching a movie" animation! 👋
Yes... we finally retired it.
And... goodbye to the long skirts too!
Well... at least for now.
While recreating authentic fashion from the 1900s and 1930s, we discovered that long dresses were causing all sorts of animation problems. Characters weren't exactly enjoying their cinema experience...
So we've temporarily switched to historically accurate shorter dresses, which were also worn during the period and work much better with the current animation system.
Don't worry though: this is only the first step. More customer variations, clothing and personalities are already on the way!
🍎Mac Version Available!
Yes... it finally happened!
If you're one of our Mac players, Movierooms is now available for macOS as well!
Please keep sending us your bug reports because supporting two operating systems means... well... twice the opportunities for bugs to surprise us. 😅
✨Improvements
📢 Less notification chaos
Some of you told us that during the first minutes of the game you're greeted by approximately 17 notifications, 3 tutorials and one very enthusiastic cashier.
Fair enough.
We're redesigning the introduction so it's much smoother and less overwhelming for new players.
🔧 "My equipment has stopped working!"
Sometimes an equipment decides it has worked enough for one lifetime.
If that happens, don't panic!
For now you can:
🔧 Repair it
💸 Sell it and buy a new one
Either solution should get your cinema back up and running while we continue tracking down the root cause.
Every time we think we've defeated one bug... another one arrives wearing a fake moustache pretending to be a completely different bug. Game development is fun. 😄
🐞Known Issues
Cash Stand Level 3
We're aware that Cash Stand Level 3 may still have issues in Sandbox Mode.
We're already working on it.
Employees who refuse to leave...
Sometimes when you fire an employee...
...they simply remain standing exactly where they were.
Motionless.
Silent.
Questioning every life decision they've ever made.
We'd actually like to bring back the previous behaviour, where they sadly left the cinema after being fired. So don't worry... we'll help them move on soon. ❤️
