PHANTOM is officially launching into early access tomorrow!
2:00PM CST // 12:00PM PST // 8:00PM GMT
For anyone curious about how long it takes to unlock everything in the game currently,
I'd assume 3H - 5H depending on how long it takes you to complete each investigation.
For me currently, I have unlocked 14 of 17 upgrades, all Maps, and 2 of 3 Items in 2H 40M,
With each investigation taking 10 - 20 mins on average, with doing a complete investigation.
Depending on how experienced you are with ghost hunting games, I'd imagine your first few investigations could take up-to 30 minutes.
As a reminder, the full release will have 9 more maps, at least 6 more items, and more upgrades.
So it could take you a pretty long time to fully unlock everything by then.
Figured I'd go over the update plans for the game.
WILL THERE BE A ROADMAP?
I don't plan on making a roadmap.
I don't want to promise content if I don't 100% know I can keep those promises.
So while I do have a sort of roadmap written down, it won't be public.
HOW OFTEN WILL UPDATES RELEASE?
Major updates: I'm aiming for 3 months on each,
but depending on any complications/complexities, they could take longer, at most 5 months.
And if they get finished early, I might just release them early!
For the first Major Update, I may need some headroom to work on any fixes or flaws that need addressing after launch. I'm personally pretty happy with the state of the game, but I may have missed some stuff.
If an update is taking longer than expected, I may end up splitting it into 2 parts.
Small updates: will go over Bug fixes, QoL, or any other much needed changes.
But don't expect any strict schedule for them.
Bugs, especially game breaking ones will be fixed ASAP.
(If you encounter any, the best place to post them is the Discord server. But there's a Forum on steam for them as well)
For this year, I'm hoping to have 3 Major Updates.
I'll go ahead and say it... The first Major update will be the URBAN update,
Which will contain a Medium Sized Movie Theater Map, new items and an upgrade.
While i'm really excited to share more,
that's all I'll say for now!
Here's some other General things I want to work on, but don't have a schedule for,
Treat these as Concepts, as they may or may not happen.
This is also in no particular order.
- Expanded Ghost Abilities & Events: There are currently 11 abilities/events across the 20 ghost types, I'd love to add on to them instead of adding more, Especially some of the traits like the ghost's Height, and hate/fear of the player.
- Reworked Hunt System. Currently... the ghost can be a little dumb/blind when hunting. Improving it's LoS mechanics and potentially adding Sound and/or Equipment detection is something I'm looking into.
- Player Death Animations. - there's currently Just a death screen if you get caught by the ghost.
- More ghost models, as well as improved Textures for current ones.
- Colorblind modes.
- Controller Support.
- Steam Achievements.
- Expanded Side Investigation. More evidences/tasks, and/or more Ages, causes of death, etc.
- Photo checklist + More types of photos.
- Improved Parabolic audio + Non-evidence sounds.
- Improved Shadow Trait.
- Improved Temperature system. More dynamic, I.E: Varying temps between rooms.
- Ambience system. Currently all ambience sounds are Static, looping audios. In another game I made, I had ambient sounds that randomly played throughout the map, This is something I'm planning on adding here as well.
- Playable Arcade Machines - Like platformers, Racing, and/or tycoon/simulator mini-games.
Thanks for reading!
to say thanks, here's a couple keys. Question marks just need to be replaced with a number.
