• 八相の構え
- Hassō no kamae
- Eight Aspects Stance

• 中段の構え
- Chudan no kamae
- Mid Level Stance

• 下段の構え
- Gedan no kamae
- Low Level Stance

• 脇の構え
- Waki no kamae
- Side Stance

• 胡蝶の構え
- Kochō no kamae
- Butterfly Stance

• 上段の構え
- Jodan no kamae
- High Level Stance

Each stance has both a light and strong strike that can be triggered from it
