Hello Commander,
Update 0.30 for Section Gamma is out now! We have closely analyzed your feedback over the past months and worked hard to take the game to the next level in every aspect. This update not only brings vastly improved visuals and deeper strategic mechanics but also numerous quality-of-life changes for a smoother gameplay experience.
Here are the full patch notes for Update 0.30:
Visuals & Immersion
Massive Visual Overhaul: New, more detailed environments alongside improved models for units and buildings make the world of Section Gamma feel more alive.
Dynamic Obstacles: Obstacles on the battlefield are now generated dynamically, blending into the environment much more naturally for an immersive experience.
Battlefield Clarity: Deactivated buildings are now much easier to recognize at a glance.
Gameplay & Tactics
New Power Management: Power plants are now essential to keep your base running. Buildings have varying energy costs (for example, a Super Computer requires significantly more power). Be careful: If your energy supply drops below zero, all buildings that require power will instantly shut down!
Construction Sites: New buildings are no longer instantly operational. This construction phase introduces a strategic delay, preventing players from rushing massive progress simply by spamming new production buildings. Expanding your base now requires more careful planning.
New Action "Move and Attack": If enemies are within your movement range, you can now target them in one fluid action.
Balancing Optimizations:
The EMP attack is now more expensive and requires more energy.
The Cluster Bomber is now cheaper to deploy.
The Airstrike has been buffed to pose a greater threat.
Various other minor tweaks to unit stats for fairer matches.
Game Flow & User Interface (QoL)
Faster Pace: Units now move faster, ensuring a much smoother and more enjoyable game flow.
Edge Scrolling: You can now move the camera by simply moving your mouse to the edge of the screen.
Clear Options: Actions that are no longer possible in the current turn are now properly grayed out in the UI.
Slider Optimization: The scaling slider has been adjusted to only show the actual usable range.
AI & Bug Fixes
Smarter Enemies: We have significantly upgraded the AI opponents to provide you with a much greater challenge.
Polishing: Numerous bug fixes and minor background optimizations.
Known Issues (Work in Progress)
We always want to be transparent with you. We are currently aware of two issues that we are already working hard to fix:
Fog of War: Occasionally, the Fog of War might not activate properly. Workaround: Please simply restart the game if this happens.
AI Thinking Time: The newly improved AI currently has phases where it takes too long to calculate its turns. We will optimize this shortly.
Thank you for your continuous support and valuable feedback. Good luck on the battlefield!
