We are pleased to announce that the mission editor function of 2D Dogfight is officially launched.
Customize your own tasks
The mission editor function can help players design their own campaign missions: players can choose to load any map, place the vehicles they want (whether aircraft or tanks) at any location, and set their parameters. Set the time, place and mission objectives for the campaign. After completing the production of a mission map, players can upload it to the workshop to share their custom missions.
Introduction to using the editor
In the editor, you can move the camera by touching the border with the mouse, or you can use the same keys as the free camera mode in the game to control the camera .
Click "Map" in the "Attribute" menu to edit the map, weather, time, and actual map size used for this mission. The default map option is Custom, but the game currently does not have a custom map feature, so it is recommended to select an existing map in the drop-down menu.
Click on aircraft and vehicles in the "items" menu to place aircraft and ground vehicles in the game. The first aircraft placed will become the aircraft used by the player, with an ID of 0. All aircraft and vehicles have a digital ID. Once placed, you can click the placed aircraft or vehicle to view the ID. If players want to delete, copy, or cut certain placed objects, they can use the corresponding functions in the "Edit" column.
Click Mission in the "Attributes" menu to edit the mission objectives in the mission editing window. The list on the left is the targets that players need to protect, and the right is the targets that players need to destroy or capture. Just select the ID or airport name of the corresponding object to add.
In addition, players can also set the types of aircraft available in the hangar, which is very useful when switching aircraft after reloading at the airport. Players can also select "Description" in the Attributes column and set the name, time, description and cover image of the mission in the window. These contents will be displayed in the corresponding items after you upload it to the workshop.
After editing the mission, save it in the file menu. Click Test to start the game. Click Upload to upload your customized task to the workshop.
