The Spanish Armada joins the Celestial Vault

A third nation enters the game

Until now the Celestial Vault was fought over by two fleets. A third one has just made
landfall: the Spanish Armada, with its own captains, its own crew, and two abilities no
other nation has.
Three captains to choose from:

  • Aníbal Pargo — his galleon brings back two extra spices from a trading post. Use his ability twice and the hold fills that much faster.

  • Catalina de Guzmán — raises a fortress instantly, and for free, on any planet of her command.

  • Sebastián de Avilés — sells a crew member on the spot for one Star Pepper and one Celestial Vanilla. The card goes back to the reserve and can be hired again later.

And two crew members found nowhere else:

  • The Crewmaster — one extra bonus token on your next collection.

  • The Governor — deduct one spice of your choice from a planet's price. Enough to take a world you could not afford a moment ago.

A new opponent

The solo AI has been rebuilt from the ground up.
It now drafts its captain and its crew instead of taking whatever came first. It plays its
crew cards, which means it finally uses its captain's ability. It weighs where to open the
board rather than dropping tiles at random, picks its targets — a galleon before a frigate —
and reads how close you are to your fifth planet before deciding where to sail.
And it plays by your rules: firing costs it a Gunner card, exactly as it costs you one.

Now playable in French

Efemeris is fully localised: menus, tutorials, captains, crew, everything. The game follows
your system language on first launch, and you can switch at any time from the Settings panel.

Full change list

  • Added the Spanish Armada: 3 playable captains and 5 crew members

  • Added two new crew abilities, the Crewmaster and the Governor

  • Rebuilt the solo AI: drafting, crew cards, captain abilities, tile scoring, target selection

  • The AI must now spend a Gunner card to attack, like any player

  • Added full French localisation, with a language selector in the Settings panel

  • Fixed the interface locking up after playing a Crewmaster, a Surgeon or a Shipwright

  • Losing every planet you hold now ends the game

  • Fixed captain Catalina's missing portrait

  • Fixed the panel artwork shown in Spanish matchups

  • Fixed the opponent's crew counter not updating as cards were spent

  • Fixed several Spanish crew and captain screens

One small thing

Efemeris is made by two people. If you enjoy it, a Steam review genuinely changes what
happens to this game — it is the single thing that helps most, and it takes a minute.
Fair winds.
