Hey there once again folks, welcome to this fortnight's devlog
If you're up to date with our last post, you'd know that we'll have wrapped up our VA Casting process! Today I'd like to give you all a short update on what's next for Casting, and go in-depth on the driving force behind the events of the game - The TerraCaelum Corporation - and their deep space magnum opous, Outpost Rhea, the location you'll find yourselves exploring throughout Project Regolith.
VA Update
Over the past couple of weeks, Conor and I finished listening through, categorizing, and parring down our massive list of over 300 auditions, and subsequent 80-ish callbacks! We've been having preliminary meetings with our choices for main cast members, and we're planning to publish an official cast list once we've finished making sure everyone's on-board! look forward to that during the next devlog!
The TerraCaelum Corporation
The TerraCaelum Corporation (or TCC for short) are at the forefront of Project Regolith's narrative, an Earth-based private company with their reach beginning to extend into the stars - TCC contracts a multitude of Earth's best corporate and scientific minds with the goal of extending Humanity's borders beyond Sol.
As Humans developed spacefaring technology and began to establish larger, more purpose-built space stations throughout our home in the Sol System, the executives at TCC began dreaming up plans for a deep-space research facility where their contractors could perform advanced studies and help further Human understanding of foreign worlds. This station was dubbed "Outpost Rhea", named for the Engineer who headed the planning and blueprinting of the Station's first iteration.
Outpost Rhea
As decades passed, Outpost Rhea's operations have expanded significantly - with a fresh batch of staff arriving every couple of years in "Rotation Vessels", large autopiloted transport ships that make the 5-year-long trip to and from Rhea to deliver personnel in cryo-sleep. These new crew members pursue a multitude of ventures, answering to a select few superiors whom in turn report to the Director of Operations aboard Rhea, Gustavo Dos Reis Castro.
Recent years aboard Rhea have been eventful, following the discovery of a peculiar space-time anomaly that has seen most of the crew's efforts shift in focus on the orders of Director Castro, and Rhea's Chief Science Officer, Gary Langden, who see an opportunity to develop a new cutting-edge piece of technology.
Feeling a major breakthrough coming, Castro and Langden authorize a new experiment, one that is sure to cement their legacies and validate their time aboard Outpost Rhea. An experiment that would be dubbed "Project Regolith"...
... Buuuuut that's all we're telling you guys for now! We'll see you all in a couple of weeks for our exciting cast reveal!
