Hello everyone and yo-ho-ho!
The development of the second chapter is in full swing and we've taken with us so many ideas that it's even getting a little cramped on one ship :)
In this development diary we'd like to share with you some new elements in the game, show you some more sketches and tell you about the plans.
A question for our fans!
In the visual novel it is very difficult to show something new without showing a spoiler. Many of you would probably prefer to see the whole story by playing it yourself. But for sure there are extremely curious players who will be happy to know any detail of the plot right now.
So we decided to ask you a question - would you like to receive details from future chapters in our diaries, or not?
Write in a comment section here (or wherever you like)!
Current status
The story is already written, all the images are almost ready and currently being processed.
We are very excited that this chapter is going to be larger than the last one, and we want to share that excitement with you.
Right now we're working on the scene with the fantastic creature from the first chapter. It's a girl who lives in water and, despite her seeming plainness, knows quite a lot about the world she lives in.
Under certain circumstances, the player will be able to get to know her better. ❤
New game elements
We have several new mini-games planned. Some of them have already been implemented, some of them are still under development or discussion. Also, we've added new buttons - guess what they're for?
As we already mentioned before, we reworked some of the sprites, and added variation to the appearance of the characters.
What else
We try to be inspired by something new all the time. Life stories, books, other games, good movies and TV series accompany our creative process.
For example, in the next chapter you can find some allusions to the immortal novel by Defoe or to the excellent “Lost” series. There will be a few more references that you can find inside, and a few more secrets you can discover.
The story evolves and all the characters on the ship eventually get used to the new captain. By the way, in this chapter, Benno finally cooks his signature dish for us!
And here are a few more sneak peaks from WIP stuff:
Some mysterious lady... Is that her tail or are there snakes here!?
The room from one of the previous spoilers. It looks like a wealthy man lives here.
That's how we do the storyboarding, to see which angle will be more advantageous for the story.
Fabian was frightened of something... he seemed to be lost in the dark!
Thank you for staying with us! Write your questions and suggestions. Don't forget that for an indie project, the community is the most important and valuable thing. Your impressions, ideas, and criticism make the game better. We wish you a fair wind!
