Hey there, alchemists!
A small update on what has been going on with Plague Alchemist recently.
Development has slowed down a bit over the past few weeks. I feel like I have been slowly burning myself out for quite a while, so I have taken some time to get myself back together instead of just continuing to push through it. When the game is essentially developed by one person, that obviously has a pretty direct effect on development speed.
The drive to work on the game is very much still there. If anything, I have to actively remind myself to relax and take some time off, because I am very keen to just keep going with development.
On top of that, I am currently in the middle of moving. My PC is sitting in a storage unit at the moment, so I physically cannot work on the game itself right now. The move may take a little while, and for now I intend to focus on getting that sorted and use the opportunity to give my brain some actual time off as well. I do still have a full-time day job, so there is more than enough going on in the meantime.
That does not mean I am doing absolutely nothing with Plague Alchemist. I am still working on the story and documentation where I can, and I want to use some of this slower period to polish the story further and deal with some of the smaller, lower-effort things that have piled up over time.
The idea is to clear some of that out now, so that once I am ready to ramp development back up properly, there is less clutter in the way and I can get back into it as smoothly as possible.
For now, it is really just a bit of a pause while I get everything sorted out and give myself some room to reset.
