Happy launch day, everyone!
When the Light Dies, our gothic horror survival roguelite, is out now! We are launching into Early Access today and can’t wait to bring you more content over the coming months.
To prepare you for the evil that awaits we’ve created a short gameplay guide video that breaks down all of the core mechanics of the game:
We’ve also set up a Discord where you can contact us directly, leave feedback, suggestions, and requests!
So what’s next?
For the next 5 months we plan to release a new update containing everything from new enemies, weapons, items, passive upgrades, and dark magic abilities, to end-of-stage bosses.
The first update should go live on 28th May and is planned to contain:
- New items to collect that will increase your chances of survival.
- A powerful new weapon to experiment with.
- An additional boss encounter to add an extra level of challenge.
In the coming weeks we’ll also be working on some smaller changes to give that extra level of polish, and we’ll release these as and when they are ready:
- Boss 1 additional powerup visuals & audio
- Boss 1 health bar
- Boss 1 death animation
- Boss 1 death sound FX
- Player character death animation
- Passive ability current/maximum tooltip
- Visual differentiator between sanity and stamina draining dark magic abilities
- Removal of survival bonus at the end of a wave
- Map size increase
So what are you waiting for? Get your hands on When the Light Dies now and remember to stay in the light!
Good luck,
PQube, Secret Level Studios, & Electric Monkeys
