Happy holidays and welcome to Mod Streaming in NervBox!
NervBox 0.7 has been our biggest undertaking yet. We set out to not only add mod support, but to solve a lot of the common pitfalls and pain points with modding multiplayer games. This update represents a complete evolution of the game, moving from a static playground to a living, community-driven ecosystem. And it’s just the beginning…
The Era of Mod Streaming
The headline feature of 0.7 is Mod Streaming. Forget the days of quitting the game to download files or making sure everyone in the lobby has the same version.
Spawn & Sync: Find a mod in the Sandbox Gun menu, spawn it, and it streams to everyone in the lobby instantly.
Native Physics: Because NervBox is physics-first, every mod is automatically compatible with everything else.
Infinite Content: Props, melee weapons, and maps are supported today, with guns, custom scripts, and gamemodes coming soon!
Rebuilt Core & Backend
To make Mod Streaming possible, we’ve completely overhauled the game's content pipelines and backend systems. This rebuilt core brings a suite of long-requested features:
Social Systems: A brand new Friends List to find and join your crew easily.
Safety & Security: Integrated reporting and moderation systems to keep the community a great place for everyone.
Refined UX/UI: Entirely new menus designed to let you explore mods and lobbies quickly and easily.
NervWare SDK
Alongside 0.7, we are launching NervWare, our official modding SDK built on Unity 6. We’ve made modding more accessible than ever:
No Code Required: Define properties like mass, material, and grab points rather than writing scripts.
Multiplayer Native: Anything you build is automatically ready for multiplayer and streaming.
