Unscripted Cancellation

Hey everyone, Steve here.

I know a few fans have been waiting for updates on what’s next for Unscripted, but I have some unfortunate news to share, which might come as a bit of a shock.

After two years of hard work, time invested and money spent on bringing Unscripted to life, I sadly have to announce that further work on the game has come to a halt.

We’ve had long discussions internally, and we reluctantly have come to the realisation that continuing work on Unscripted is simply far too expensive to be feasible. We drastically underestimated the time and money required to produce the game and not only is it unlikely to ever turn profitable, but even continuing work on one more episode would bankrupt our company and take down our first series College Kings with it. It's an upsetting turn of events and unfortunately one that we have to acknowledge where we went wrong and try to learn from it.

Thank you all for your support while we created the game. Unscripted and its community truly mean the world to me and again I am devastated and upset that we couldn't deliver what everyone was eagerly waiting for.

But there is at least some promising news, in light of this decision we’ve been thinking about our next project. Roughly three months ago we began to work on a new project largely informed by where we went wrong with Unscripted and it looks to be very exciting. We're starting with a small team and making sure that the project is within budget every step of the way! No specifics to share as of now, but we'll make sure to let you know once we do.

I can appreciate that this is less than ideal news, and that you were all excited for more Unscripted. I want to make sure that your support is rewarded, we’re waiting to hear back on some ideas we’re pursuing to reward people that bought Unscripted in Early Access. I can’t say anything just yet, but we’re committed to ensuring that your support for the game is recognized.
