April 2026 Development Update

FELLOW KVLTISTS

Hope this posts finds you well, we just passed a slow month for us, about half of our team had personal things going so we're just doing progress how we can and when we can. I know, its not the most exciting news but we will always will be honest with you.

That being said, and bringing some more positive notes, in the month of April we have been fully working on the reworked Level 1 (also known as the Demo level you all played) and Cinematics.

Reworked Level 1

With this level the focus is on putting it on par of quality to the rest of the levels of the game, but also, there were quite a lot of things that we saw as 'temporary'.

An example of this could be the intro of the demo level, where you started in a cave with just a note, we cant show the change just yet because its on blockout stage, but its a substantial change, and its our little homage to one of our favorite games: Half-Life. Just gonna say that ;)

On the other hand, because we splitted tutorial between the Prologue Level and Level 1, we now were able to put more time and space in the level to make sure each sub theme in the level is done to the best of our abilities, and put some more thought and effort in the environmental storytelling.

We're also working on a new weapon for this level, its called the Grimoire, we cant show it just yet, but we will make a post once its in a presentable state.

A few screenshots below:

Cinematics

We dont want to spoil much here, as this is meant to be enjoyed fully in your first playthrough of the game, but if you liked any of the cinematics we have worked on so far, and just in case these are the ones:

Well... we have quite a lot more coming for you. I'm genuinely excited to have these finished and see what you all think.

Having grown playing 90s game, specially Blizzard's ones, and watching all of those sick cinematics and being able to make our humble take on those... its a bit of a dream come true.

Anyways, here is a sneak peek of a work-in-progress slide. Mostly focusing on composition, but we have our friend Lazar doing some research.

I know you all have been waiting for too long already and its still a bit more until the game is in a shippable state, but I wanted to thank you all for the support so far, its been a tough long journey but know this: we will put all we have to give you the best game we can do.
