The highly anticipated update to Beyond the Mountains is now available.
Beyond the Mountains Deluxe is a remastered version of Beyond the Mountains. The game was built and rebuilt from scratch over the course of six years with various tweaks, new content, and quality of life updates. Below are some abridged notes from this free update:
Functional inventory screen
2 brand new items, including one item that allows you to shift from a 2d plane to a 3d plane
The overworld is further polished and most of the dungeons have been completely remixed
The bosses have been updated or altogether changed from the original game
Combat feels punchier and more strategic
The HUD has been updated to look cleaner
Misc. special effects have been added for a more breathable environment (coin pickup, etc).
All sprites are now animated
Many tiles have been polished and given more detail
Additional cutscenes and content

I know that the original game was a little janky, so I tried to maintain that same tone while also cleaning up a lot of the stuff that felt unfair or punishing. Some of the puzzles can be a little obtuse, so I have been chipping away at a free walkthrough guide that you can view on this Steam page.
I imagine that this update will introduce new bugs. Be sure to leave a comment if you encounter any. I will try to patch those up as soon as possible. Thank you for everything!
